EXCLUSIVE: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley 'on a break' from long-term boyfriend Jason Statham as pair take time out

She is currently enjoying a sunshine break in Ibiza with her closest girlfriends.
And yesterday it emerged it is not just work that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is taking a time-out from.
Sources close to the 26-year-old model and actress claim she is also ‘on a break’ from her long term boyfriend Jason Statham.

Despite rumours the 45-year-old Expendables star was planning to pop the question, a source close to the couple has now claimed their incessant rowing and the 19-year-age gap between them has led to them temporarily separating in the hope of salvaging their now fragile three-year-relationship.
It is also believed Mr Statham’s apparent unwillingness to propose to Miss Huntington-Whiteley may also have played a part.
The trial separation comes after Mr Statham, a street trader’s son who is now regarded as Britain’s most bankable star in Hollywood, was photographed wining and dining a group of girls in a Manhattan bar in June.

Mr Statham partied into the small hours in Dorrian’s Red Hand Bar before being escorted home drunk at 4am.
Miss Huntington-Whiteley did not attend the party but in her absence onlookers claimed Mr Statham ‘flirted’ with the local girls.
Not long after it was reported Mr Statham was planning to ask Miss Huntington-Whitely to marry him to prove his devotion to her.
However the couple denied the rumours and an engagement ring never surfaced.

Instead Miss Huntington-Whiteley, who models for Victoria’s Secret and has starred in a number of films including Transformers: Dark of the Moon, has been spotted holidaying alone – enjoying the beach and parties with five friends.
The model, who has graced countless magazine front covers and last year earned £5million, arrived on the island of Ibiza on Sunday and has been sharing her holiday snaps on social networking site Twitter.
A source close to the pair, said: ‘There is no other person involved. They love each other very much and are not making an announcement because they’re still hoping to working things out.
‘But things have not been good, there have been lots of arguments and they both need some space.
‘They are taking some time out from each other. Bear in mind there’s an almost 20 year age gap between them – they are going to run into some issues.’

Now the couple are allegedly trying to keep the rumour mill at bay while they attempt to save their relationship.
The news of their ‘time-out’ follows Miss Huntington-Whiteley’s ‘loved-up’ interview with Elle magazine which will be published in October and will see her grace the front cover.
Speaking to the magazine, she said: ‘Many models are in long term relationships for stability. Admittedly, not always with great men, but it gives them something to come home to, something grounding.
‘That’s how I see my relationship. Well, I see it in many ways but of the most beautiful things is that I feel at home wherever I am in the world because of him.
‘You’ve got someone special to go back to when the shit hits the fan.’
In another interview she also denied any issues surrounding the 19-year age gap.

She said: ‘I’m not interested in hanging out with boys, I have all the man I need. His knowledge and strength are really inspiring and attractive, and that can come with a man who’s had a bit of time.
‘We have a connection that has nothing to do with age. Work comes and goes, but if you have someone at home who thinks you’re the greatest person in the world, that keeps you going.
The couple were last seen together on August 17 but despite walking hand in hand the pair looked miserable in each other’s company.
They were said to be enjoying some time together in a brief break from their ever-busy work schedules.
While in London Miss Huntington-Whiteley looked perfectly coiffed has she enjoyed three ‘date-nights’ on the trot with her long-term lover.
The couple first started dating in April 2010 when they publicly attended the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, in California.
The couple spend most of their time together in Los Angeles.
Mr Stratham shot to fame after staring in Guy Ritchie’s film Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and is expected to start shortly on the highly-anticipated blockbuster Fast & Furious 7.
