Eva Longoria oozes golden glamour in dazzling flapper-style frock at her Parisian Global Gift Gala

Eva Longoria oozes golden glamour in dazzling flapper-style frock as she leads superstar red carpet arrivals at her Parisian Global Gift Gala

She is the woman of the hour, as the organiser behind the series of fundraisers.
So Eva Longoria was sure to stand out at all costs as she hit the red carpet at the first of her series of dazzling events for her charity The Global Gift Foundation - kicking of with The Global Gift Gala in Paris on Tuesday, in which she looked incredible in a dazzling golden gown.
The 42-year-old Desperate Housewives actress looked sensational for her turn on the red carpet as she slipped into a flapper-inspired gown adorned with tiers of intricate gold beading while she flashed a peek of her bare chest through the sheer panel placed over her perky cleavage.

Eva is one of many superstars to throw their support as an acting ambassador of the Global Gift Foundation, a charity that works to raise funds for foundations, charities and organisations that share its vision and aims.
Through events such as the various galas and fundraisers the charity funds several projects - including The Eva Longoria Foundation - founded in 2012 - with the aim of helping Latinas build better futures through education and entrepreneurship.
With many years of hosting bashes under her belt, the stunning star knows a thing or two about red carpet prowess - as illustrated when she swept into the event looking simply phenomenal in her golden number.
The top of the dress was given a saucy touch with a tight sheer base flaunting her braless state, while strategically placed sequined adornments and lace appliques helped protect her modesty while boosting her perky cleavage.

Sure to make the most of her famously stunning good looks, Eva scraped her hair off her face into an elegant chignon sitting atop her head while her make-up was perfectly applied.
A bronze-hued smokey eye was perfectly shaded around the stunning star's eyes, while her lower lash line was generously smudged with kohl to help perfect the glamorous look.
Ensuring her bling was not only on her dress, the brunette beauty also wore lashings of jewels including drooling diamonds in her earrings and her eye-popping engagement and wedding ring gifted to her by her husband Jose Antonio Bastón, with whom she will celebrate her first wedding anniversary on Sunday.

Adding to the superstar turn out on the night was Pamela Anderson, who was wholly more casual than the Desperate Housewives star, as she turned out in a boxy white jacket with a prom-style skirt.
She opted for Fifties-style glamour in the ensemble which teased just a hint of her famous cleavage from beneath the sheer jacket which she chose to sport nothing underneath.
Her hair was styled into a super glamorous blonde quiff falling over a scraped back ponytail which fell over her shoulders in bouncy lengths. She paired the hairstyle with stunning diamond earrings.
Pamela and Eva clearly get along famously, as they delightedly greeted one another on the red carpet with warm smiles and a mutual appreciation for their ensembles.

Decline and Fall, BBC1: cast, locations, and four other things to know about the Jack Whitehall comedy drama

Decline and Fall, BBC1: cast, locations, and four other things to know about the Jack Whitehall comedy drama

The classic Evelyn Waugh novel comes to TV in a surprisingly relevant adaptation

Friday night seems like an odd time for Decline and Fall to be airing.
The new BBC comedy-drama boasts a period setting, a warm tone and an impressive cast that surely would nab it a Sunday evening slot – if Line of Duty wasn’t already there to give us all heart palpitations with its fourth series.
But make sure you don’t miss out on this three-parter – here’s what you need to know.
1) It’s based on an Evelyn Waugh novel
Decline and Fall is based on the novel of the same name by Evelyn Waugh – a 1928 satirical comedy about the life of Paul Pennyfeather.
The character is initially an Oxford student who gets expelled from his college after getting up to antics in the ‘Bollinger Club’, and experiences more misfortunes as the plot continues.
2) It’s been adapted by the writer of Rev
The book has never been put on TV before – and taking on the first attempt is writer James Wood, known for his hit BBC comedy Rev.
“It's a scary thing to do because it’s such a loved book,” he says. “Lots of people think it's the greatest comic novel in English fiction. So that's the challenge - living up to expectations.”

3) There are some major actors involved
As with plenty of BBC dramas these days, there’s a fantastic cast lined up here – in the lead role as Paul Pennyfeather is Jack Whitehall, while Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria plays his later-fiancee Margot Beste-Chetwynde.
David Suchet, aka Hercule Poirot, plays ‘lunatic scholar’ Dr Fagan, while The Night Manager’s Douglas Hodge plays Captain Grimes.
Also popping up are Stephen Graham and Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy from Game of Thrones).

4) The three episodes are quite distinct
The novel follows three phases of Pennyfeather’s life, and they’re channelled into three episodes of this adaptation.
“The first episode is set in a horrendous minor Welsh public school, populated with lunatics and monsters,” explains Wood.
“The second episode is set in Margot's high society world and Kristian the production designer has built an amazing modernist home that Margot lives in. That world is all parties and decadence and has something of a Noel Coward feel. And the third episode largely takes place in a prison.
“Paul Pennyfeather is the thread that pulls us through those worlds.”

5) It’s relevant again – thanks to Brexit
A novel from 1928 might not immediately seem relevant, but director Guillem Morales saw a link to today’s society – especially in the political upheavals of Brexit.
“I found that it's a young man who goes through a society which is elitist, classist, xenophobic, racist, corrupt, amoral and I thought, ‘well, maybe society hasn't changed so much since then, so maybe it's not so dated’. Decline and Fall is about a generation ruining the next one,” he says.

“Then the Referendum happened and the majority of young people voted to stay and the majority of old people voted to leave, and then I realised that it was disturbingly familiar.”

A fair chunk of the drama is set in Wales, and that’s where the TV adaptation was filmed. The series was partly shot at Pinewood Studios outside Cardiff, while some scenes were shot on location in the city itself.6) It was filmed in Wales
