She has made her mark since that dramatic turn in 12 Years A Slave.

Lupita Nyong'o proves that point once again as she graces the cover of the October 2016 issue of Vogue magazine.

The 33-year-old Queen Of Katwe star looks every bit the royal in a richly coloured and floral embossed Chanel dress with crew neckline and short puffed sleeves.

The actress, who was born in Mexico City to Kenyan parents and raised in Kenya, wore a deep purple headwrap and drop earrings.

If Lupita was glowing, it can be attributed to the inner strength and beauty that emanates from within.

It's that inner strength that fuels her desire 'to create opportunities for other people of color.'

The piece captured Lupita returning to her family's village in Kenya and telling African stories about her people and culture.

'Being able to use my platform to expand and diversify the African voice. I feel very passionate about that. It feels intentional, meaningful.'

She also shared her dismay with what she calls 'the European sense of beauty' that 'affects us all.'

Lupita said: 'I came home from college in the early two-thousands and saw ads on TV with a girl who can’t get a job. She uses this product. She gets her skin lighter. She gets the job.

'The lording of lighter skin is a common thing growing up in Nairobi. Being called "black mamba." The slow burn of recognizing something else is better than you.'

Lupita recently played a 15-year-old Liberian known only as The Girl in the Broadway play Eclipsed, which saw it's final performance in June.

She's got style: Lupita - who also shared in Vogue her dismay with what she calls 'the European sense of beauty' - exuded confident style in brightly patterned designs while promoting her new film Queen Of Katwe during TIFF over the weekend

'There are certain cards that have been dealt me that I take on,' Lupita explained. 'That is why Eclipsed and even Queen of Katwe are so important, to change the narrative, offer a new lens on African identity.'

Lupita shared the glamorous cover on her Instagram page, writing: 'I shared my home with @VogueMagazine so they could share my home with you. #LinkInBio for more. @QueenOfKatweMovie'

She also shared a picture of herself holding the newest issue along with a shoutout to the people who worked so diligently behind it: 'LOVE. Thank you @VogueMagazine, @MarioTestino, @TonneGood, @VernonFrancois, @DilokritBarose, @TeamID. #QueenOfKatwe'

Lupita hinted that a big surprise was in store as she posted another picture of herself about to open a box - a box that contained the first issues of the October edition of Vogue.

'I have a secret that I can finally share… Guess who came to see me back home in Kenya?!' wrote Lupita, whose smile in the photo couldn't contain the giddiness.

At the same time, Lupita showcased her flair for style in a form-fitting, sleeveless berry dress with two black bands winding its way around the skirt's bottom half.

Lupita's latest film, Queen Of Katwe, premiered during Toronto International Film Festival and will hit US theatres on September 30.

She's frequently seen cavorting about with her elder sister Gigi Hadid.

But Bella Hadid reminded fans she can be quite as enrapturing as a solo act when she covered Flare. The 19-year-old bared her showstopping legs on the front of the Toronto-based magazine, wrapping a black leather jacket about her torso and wearing only Calvin Klein underwear for bottoms.

She also posed topless, something she did earlier this summer for Vogue.

Like the cover, a string of photos of her inside the magazine were snapped by Nino Muñoz and styled by Isabel Dupré.

Her photographer has shot covers for such magazines as British Vogue, German Glamour, Elle Brazil and Harper's Bazaar Australia.

Though Calvin Klein dominated her wardrobe choices throughout the shoot, a particularly striking photo showed her topless.

A Feathered Souls bracelet and rings were all she wore as she held her arms over her bosom, her drenched hair falling across her face.

In another photo, she sat on a stool in a light, fluffy Calvin Klein jumper that fell off one shoulder and flowed down between her spread legs, which straddled the stool in black leather CK boots.

The same designer was her go-to again, when she flashed her impossibly flat midriff from behind an open white jacket that served as her only top.

Her leather pencil skirt was slightly unzipped at the waist, and a simple solitaire choker wound its way about her neck.

Wearing nothing but leather shorts in another picture, she lay down facing away from the camera.

As she folded her arms at her front, she turned to glance mysteriously at something overhead.

Yet another snapshot saw her curled up in the crook of a white sofa. Her wet white Calvin Klein For Urban Outfitters T-shirt hinted at her bust, and she brushed her hair away from her face.

Folding her legs, she came close to flashing a bit of derrière in her skimpy Seductive Comfort underwear, which once again was from the 73-year-old New Yorker's fashion brand.

Even when she wore his dress shirt and slacks, she infused the outfit with a casual sensuality, opening the shirt completely and exposing much of her cleavage and stomach.

A final topless photo saw her body turned away from the camera but her head twisting toward it. Her sculpted jeans seemed superglued to her pencil thin legs.

The girlfriend of The Weeknd - whose real name is Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye - has had something of a red letter year as far as being a cover girl is concerned.

Recently, she and Victoria's Secret Angel Taylor Hill covered the September issue of Vogue Paris.

Therein, the daughter of Yolanda Hadid posed nude and showed nipple in an elegant black and white photograph by Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott.

For Vogue Paris alone, the legendary fashion photography team have photographed such figures as Marion Cotillard, Kate Moss, Vanessa Paradis and Carla Bruni.

To explosive fanfare and furious debate, Kendall Jenner covered the September issue of American Vogue this year.

And on Tuesday, she showed her Instagram followers a bit of what Anna Wintour declined to run.

The 20-year-old posted a sultry shot of herself in a black one-piece, revealing it was one of the photos that wound up being overlooked by the magazine.

Her tousled hair falling over half her face, the reality star gave a smouldering stare to the camera, pulling up the side of the swimsuit to flash a bit of her sculpted derrière.

The caption read simply: 'unpublished by @mertalas + @macpiggott'. Those handles belong to Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott, the legendary duo of fashion photographers who ran Kendall's photoshoot.

Their prodigious ledger includes - to pluck at random from just their Vogue Paris covers - Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Marion Cotillard and Vanessa Paradis.

This newly unveiled Vogue photo comes on the heels of her cover for the fashion bible's October issue in Japan. Released Monday, the photo by Luigi Mureno and Iango Henzi shows her in Balenciaga's Fall 2016 collection from head to toe.

Her hair in severe braided pigtails, Kylie Jenner's elder sister half-zipped a leather biker jacket over a dishevelled salmon blouse and pink gingham skirt.

Meanwhile, for her American Vogue cover, Mert and Marcus threw her hair over her face again. She held the top of her richly patterned matador outfit open, baring a bit of cleavage and her enviably flat midriff.

The Condé Nast constant: On Monday, Vogue Japan unveiled the cover for its October issue, which also features the reality star

The expansive and frequently dishy interview therein included revelations about her father, Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce.

Before the public transition, Kendall confided, she and Kylie once 'thought he was cheating on my mom, because he had makeup and nail polish. One time we found those squishy boob things. We found wigs. And then one time I actually ran into her. In this house. She had no idea.'

Kris Jenner's penultimate daughter explained: 'She would wake up really early just so she could dress up and move around the house and get that little kick for the morning, and then go back to being Bruce—take us to school, totally normal.'

In a particularly jarring stroke, Kendall said: 'My mom knew. She knew since their third date.' At which point, Kris Jenner burst into the room with brownies.

It is official, Kendall Jenner is the hottest model in the world right now.

The 20-year-old reality turned catwalk star has landed her first cover of Vogue.

On Thursday, the magazine and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians celebrity simultaneously revealed on social media that she had not only made her cover debut, she had done so on its September issue.

Unable to contain her excitement, Kendall took to Instagram to celebrate while in the Bahamas for her sister Kylie's birthday.

The model said on Instagram: 'In a room with a bunch of people I love, looking at this cover made me cry. I F**KING DID IT. SEPTEMBER VOGUE.

'This is the coolest thing ever! can't thank you enough Anna, for giving me the honor.'

Wearing a matador-inspired couture ensemble from Gucci which featured just a jacket and pants, her hair falling over one side of her face and her mouth slightly open, Kendall pulled a classic Vogue pose on the cover.

Shot by the magazine's dream team, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the cover is all about Kendall.

Vogue declares that it is 'Generation K' and bills the issue as 'Kendall Jenner: The face that launched a billion likes.'

While her big sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were the first in the family to be on the cover of US Vogue back in 2014, the couple were on the April issue not the coveted September issue.

September has long been held as the premiere release of any magazine as it the biggest and celebrates the trends for the following year.

For the issue's cover story, Kendall sat down with writer Jonathan Van Meter to discuss how she became the breakout model of her generation.

But it was Kim who explained to Vogue how her little sister went from reality star to one of the biggest models in the fashion industry.

Kim said the the article: 'She had her eyes focused on exactly what she wanted to do and she made it happen.'
