Her character Maria Connor is only just back on the cobbles after actress Samia Ghadie returned from maternity leave.

And on Saturday night, the Coronation Street star and her fiance Sylvain Longchambon enjoyed their first night out together as a couple since their son Yves was born seven months ago.

The blonde beauty, 33, showed off her slim figure in a sheer little black dress as she joined the French figure skater, 35, at the Joining Jack boxing charity gala at the Manchester Hilton.

Samia, who has played Maria on the soap for 16 years, looked thrilled to be enjoying a rare night out with her fiance, who she met on Dancing On Ice.

They were joined by her Corrie co-star Jane Danson and her husband Robert Beck for the event organised by Cheshire White Collar Boxing.

The lavish do featured six bouts of boxing, a three-course meal, champagne reception, a charity auction and music from DJ Peter Hook, Nick Hussey and Rowetta.

On the way to the bash, Samia snapped a selfie of herself in the car with Sylvain and their pals Oliver Dunn and Kiki Minchin, which she shared on her Instagram page.

She wrote: 'Last night was our first night out together since having baby.. Great night raising money for #joiningjack #datenight #friends.'

During the event, Samia shared a table with Jane - who plays Leanne Battersby in the soap - and the pair even made a joint appearance in the ring with co-star Antony Cotton during the auction.

Jane also shared a photo of herself and Samia on Twitter, writng: 'Raising money for @alljoinjack with my beautiful @realsamia. Helping children with a cruel disease #duchene.'  

Samia and Sylvain started dating in 2013 after being partnered together on ITV reality TV show Dancing On Ice.

Their romance courted controversy at the time because Sylvain dumped his girlfriend of two years, Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe shortly before he was linked to Samia, while the soap star had just ended her one year romance with Corrie co-star Will Thorp.

In addition to son Yves, Samia also has a six-year-old daughter Freya with her ex-husband Matthew Smith, who she divorced in 2011 after six years of marriage.

She is blissfully happy after falling pregnant and getting engaged in a matter of months.

And Samia Ghadie certainly looked glowing as she stepped out for lunch in Alderley Edge, Cheshire on Friday.

The stunning Coronation Street actress looked sensational as she showed off her growing baby bump in a chic blue dress, which made the most of her slender legs.

The 32-year-old was joined by another famous face from the cobbles, former Corrie star Angela Londsdale, who played police officer Emma Taylor on the soap.

The pair made the most of the sun as they took a stroll with Angela's pet pooch Bo before enjoying a leisurely lunch.

Samia - who has played Maria Connor on the ITV show since 2000 - recently revealed that she has accepted her ice skater boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon's proposal.

Despite focusing on welcoming her second child in the next few months, the beauty - who has a daughter, Freya, from her previous marriage - is already planning her nuptials.

Revealing she wants to have the big day in France, where Dancing On Ice professional Sylvan hails from, she writes in her OK! blog: 'We would ideally love to get married in France as Sylvain has a large family and he doesn't get to see them that often. I also think we might need to enlist some help in the form of a wedding planner as logistically, it might prove difficult to plan having two and a little job on the cobbles to hold down.'

As for her pregnancy, the actress admits it's getting harder for the team at work to disguise her changing body.

She added: 'We've been filming on location... so I've not been able to have my usual post-lunch naps. But at nearly six months pregnant, I do seem to have finally found some extra energy at last.

'It's becoming increasingly harder to disguise my pregnancy on screen now as Maria isn't expecting in the show. Our lovely director Tony [Stewart] had to ask our costume department to get me a huge bag and long coat to try and get around it for our location scenes.'

They've been happily dating for two years since meeting on Dancing On Ice and now Samia Ghadie has revealed she and Sylvain Longchambon are expecting a baby together.

The Coronation Street actress, who has a daughter Freya with her ex-husband Matthew Smith, took to Twitter to reveal the exciting news on Thursday. 

Samia, 32, wrote: 'Me and @slongchambon have some very happy news to share.. We are having a baby!! Freya can't wait to be a big sister later this year!'

French champion skater Sylvian, 34,  did not comment on the news but retweeted Samia's message. 

Samia's co-stars, including Catherine Tyldesley and Paula Lane who recently welcomed children of their own, were quick to respond with congratulatory messages. 

Catherine wrote: 'So thrilled for you guys!!! What a baby boom!!! J Awesome news!!! Love me @TP_PTfitness and Alfie xxx.'

While Paula added: 'YEY! Massive congratulations, so thrilled for you. Huge love xxxxxxxxxx.' 

The couple's pairing on Dancing On Ice two years ago sparked controversy, when Sylvain dumped his girlfriend at the time, actress Jennifer Metcalfe, soon after meeting Samia.

The dancer reportedly ended their relationship during a phone call after he had 'developed feelings' for Samia.

Jennifer also met her ex when she was partnered with him on the show two years prior, and at the time of being dumped was said to be 'in bits'.

While was appearing on the show, Samia's romance with former Coronation Street co-star Will Thorp had also quietly come to an end.

During the competition, she gushed in an interview with the Sunday Mirror's Celebs magazine: 'Sylvain is brilliant. He is so kind, patient and thoughtful.

'I can see how you'd end up in a relationship with your partner. You get to know each other intensely and there is a lot of trust.

'They ask you what you want in a partner and I said, someone nice, someone strong, someone patient and someone with a good sense of humour, and he's got all that.'

It’s billed as the biggest fashion event outside London, a place where young designers, models and buyers can make crucial industry contacts. 

It also grabs more column inches than any other regional fashion show, so it was no surprise to see a smattering of celebrity guests at the launch of Liverpool Fashion Week on Monday evening. 

Amongst those to show their support for the current crop of young British designers were Coronation Street stars were Tina O’Brien and Samia Ghadie.

The pair arrived at the city’s Royal Liver Building in high-spirits, with Tina – best known for her former role as Sarah-Louise Platt in the long-running soap – opting for a black and red ensemble.

Indeed, the 30-year-old actress teamed her neutral top with a pair matching shorts that were distinctive by virtue of their striking floral pattern. 

The neutral theme continued with a pair of stylish ankle boots, while the thick gold chain around her neck acted as a focal point and proved to be a wise choice of accessory given her decision to choose black as a primary colour.

The overall look was loaned an additional splash of colour courtesy of her pillar-box red blazer jacket, its garish hue matching not only the floral design on her shorts, but also the generous slash of lipstick applied to her mouth. 

Samia also chose black in the form of a smart leather pencil skirt and peep-toe heels as she made her way into the event with a female pal. 

The 31-year-old star – Maria Connor in Corrie – matched her neutral lower half with a striking gold coloured top that appeared to compliment her flaxen hair.

Samia was attending the event without French boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon – the professional skater she met while appearing on ITV show Dancing On Ice. 

Speaking to OK! magazine the actress – a mother-of-one to daughter Freya with ex-husband Matt Smith – recently admitted that she would like to start a family with the Gallic hunk.  

‘In the future it would be nice to have more children as Sylvain is great with kids.’ 

Despite wanting to extend her brood, the actress confessed that she and Sylvain were in no hurry to wed. 

‘We’re just happy as we are,’ she added. ‘To be honest, we haven’t really thought about it yet.’

They're normally head-to-head in the ratings war, but British actresses from Coronation Street and Emmerdale instead competed in a charity netball match, today.

Cast members from the ITV soaps battled it out in aid of the network's annual charity fundraiser, Text Santa.

The event, which took place in Manchester, had been organised by Samia Ghadie and included co-stars Jane Danson, Katy Cavanagh and Brooke Vincent.

They formed part of team which challenged Emmerdale's Charlie Webb and Alison King.

Wearing traditional black and yellow netball costumes, the Coronation Street girls looked determined as they fought against their Yorkshire rivals, who wore pink and purple.

21 year-old Brooke Vincent perhaps had the toughest fighht on her hands because she'd been partying at another charity fundraiser with Kym Lomas the night before.

Determined to win: Samia, who organised the match, was driven by personal grief to score against her opponents

It's a hit: Samia celebrated as the Coronation Street girls steadily succeeded over their rivals

But, after a 90-minute game, the Coronation Street team were victorious.

The news will be welcome relief for Samia, whose motivation was the death of her father in 2009.

Speaking to The Mirror recently, she added that her charity work also helps her three year-old daughter Freya appreciate the importance of giving.

The actress said: 'I’m trying to get Freya aware that not everyone is as privileged as she is. When she doesn’t finish her food I always say, ‘Think of those poor children in Africa.’

'She says, ‘Well, let’s send our food there’ and I tell her, ‘We can’t send food there but we can give them money.’

'Because of the direct debit she knows she helps other children.'

Text Santa raises money for six UK based charities - Age UK, Barnardo's, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, Clic Sargent and Help the Hospices.

The appeal has raised nearly £10 million for charities since it started in 2011, and last year saw hosts Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Christine Bleakley and Paddy McGuinness broadcasting all the festive fun to 6.2 million people.

And true to her typical style, Rihanna drew attention to her enviable figure in pair of tiny shorts while performing in Dublin on her World Diamonds Tour on Friday.

The Barbadian star went for a Wonder Woman inspired look in the shorts, which were embroidered in a star spangled design.

Her long-sleeved black top featured sheer material over her bust, midriff and thighs.

Its flowing material exposed the singer’s black bra top, which she accessorised with a white studded belt fastened under the bust.

The 25-year-old also made her long legs stand out in a pair of kinky over-the-knee boots, which featured studs and unusual oversized eyelet details.

The flat-heeled boots were practical as well as sexy, allowing the star to perform her energetic dance routines with ease. 

A gold spiked necklace completed the fierce look and also set off her newly dyed auburn locks. 

The singer seemed to be making the most of the risqué outfit, bending over provocatively while cheekily sticking out her tongue.

After performing, Rihanna went partying and was spotted looking a little tired leaving Lillies's Bordello Club in Dublin at 4am.

In contrast to her stage outfit, she was rather more dressed for comfort, wearing an army print bomber jacket, jeans and a comfy white T-shirt which seemed to bear a rude slogan.  

She added some glamour to the outfit with a chunky gold necklace and lots of gold rings and bracelets.

After performing to over 30,000 fans at the The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Rihanna will head to Amsterdam for the next leg of her world tour. 

But at the end of her 94 date tour, Riri may be looking forward to a girly holiday to Mexico, planned by pal Cara Delevingne.

The model is reportedly trying to cheer up the star after her breakup with rap singer Chris Brown earlier this month. 

An insider told the Daily star: 'Cara knows Rihanna’s been going through a hard time with the whole Chris drama. She’s planning something fun, and said she wants it to be all about vodka, tequila and having a laugh.'
