Who's the brightest of them all? Zoe Hardman and Anna Shaffer compete for attention in colourful dresses at the Bafta Games Awards
By SARAH BULL
But TV presenter Zoe Hardman and former Harry Potter star Anna Shaffer were on hand to provide some colour at the Bafta Games Awards at the Hilton Park Lane hotel on Tuesday night.
The girls competed for attention in their bright ensembles as they posed up on the red carpet.
Competing for attention: Zoe Hardman and Anna Shaffer both opted for bright outfits as they made an appearance at the Bafta Games Awards at the Hilton Park Lane on Wednesday night
Take Me Out: The Gossip star Zoe, 30 opted for full-length glamour in a strapless yellow and black leopard-print fishtail gown, wearing her brunette hair swept to the side and teaming the outfit with a black clutch bag.
Anna, meanwhile, who is famous for playing Romilda Vane in Harry Potter as well as Ruby Button in Hollyoaks, went for a fitted pink lace dress which flattered her slim figure.
The 20-year-old actress teamed the dress, which had a white slip underneath to maintain her modesty, with a pair of nude pointed court shoes.
Fun night out: Jonathan Ross was on hand to present an award, while his wife Jane Goldman also added a splash of colour with her dip-dyed pink hair
Me and my boy: Jonathan was accompanied by his son Harvey (right), who was joined by his friend Lucas Stockman
However, while Anna and Zoe decided to go for colourful outfits, Jonathan Ross' wife Jane Goldman introduced her own splash of excitement - with her dip-dyed pink hair.
Screenwriter Jane showed off her blonde and candy-floss coloured locks as she posed up with her chat show host husband and their son Harvey, who attended alongside a friend.
Other stars to make an appearance at the awards included Olympic gymnast and Strictly Come Dancing winner Louis Smith, who admitted he is a 'big gamer' in his spare time, as well as Zoe's Take Me Out co-host Mark Wright and ex Gavin & Stacey star Mat Horne.
Suited and booted: Mark Wright, Louis Smith and Conor Maynard looked smart in their suits for the occasion
Games fans: Mat Horne and Russell Kane were among the familiar faces at the red carpet event
Comedian Russell Kane, who looked dapper in his suit for the occasion, presented the Game Design award to Journey and said he is not surprised that children are more attracted to video games than literature these days.
He said: 'There's more and more interaction, the learning side of it is getting more and more interesting.
'Some of these historical first person games, without even meaning to, even though you've cut the heads off a thousand people, you've learned who the Tudors are - benefits.'
Rhianna Pratchett, the daughter of fantasy author Terry Pratchett, said she is excited that video games have now evolved into a better way of telling stories.
Rhianna, who wrote the new Tomb Raider prequel, said: 'I think we have only just scratched the surface of what narrative in games can do.'
