    It was one of the biggest nights of year for country stars.
And Carrie Underwood showed she is the reining Queen of the genre at the CMT Music Awards by picking up two awards.
The star looked stunning for the evening in a metallic sequined mini dress and sky high black shoe boots.

She paraded her endless legs in the short frock and vamped up her rock chick look with backcombed hair.
The songbird scooped the most prestigious gong of the evening in the form of the Video of the Year award for her hit Good Girl.
She said in her acceptance speech: 'I just want to thank you guys for watching the videos, voting for them, supporting all of us because we all need you, we all love you.'

It was a double whammy for the 29-year-old, who also picked up the award for Collaborative Video of the Year alongside Brad Paisley, for the song Remind Me.
When he took to the stage, Brad couldn't help but gush over getting to work with the blonde bombshell.
He said: 'I'd like to thank this beautiful woman for being in the video. Otherwise, it's just a dork walking through the desert.'

Carrie, who performed at the event, won two out of a possible three awards this evening - she was also nominated for  Female Video of the Year, but the accolade went to Miranda Lambert.
Miranda gave an emotional tribute to her late brother-in-law as she accepted the gong for her single Over You.
She told the crowd: 'This song means so much to me and to my husband and to our family. I just want to thank Blake's brother, Richie, in heaven for inspiring us to write this song.'

Luke Bryan was presented with the award for Male Video of the Year for his track I Don't Want This Night To End.
He joked: 'When I came home to show my wife this video, I removed all the bullets out of our house. And I want to thank her not going to buy more bullets to shoot me with.'
Meanwhile Lady Antebellum won Group Video of the Year for We Owned the Night and Dave Haywood spoke on behalf of the trio.

Scott McCreery picked up the USA Breakthrough Weekend Video for The Trouble With Girls, which was shot at his home high school in North Carolina.
Jason Aldean won CMT Performance of the Year for his rendition of Tattoos on This Town, while Thompson Square took home the gong for Duo of the Year for I Got You.
The star-studded event was held tonight in Nashville, Tennessee.
