Jessica Alba admits she struggled with her sex symbol status as she wows in ethereal InStyle shoot

'I went through a life crisis': Jessica Alba admits she struggled with her sex symbol status as she wows in ethereal InStyle shoot

She's the co-founder of a billion dollar company, a movie star with several titles under her belt and a happily married mother of two daughters.
But Jessica Alba has admitted that she struggled during the early days of her fame.
The 35-year-old spoke about shedding her sex symbol status during an interview with InStyle Magazine's July 2016 issue.

Jessica also graced the cover of the upcoming issue, which hits newsstands on June 10, and looked absolutely beautiful while posing in a meadow.
The actress sat on the grass while wearing a lovely white dress and natural make-up, with her brunette hair wet.
And while Jessica is now seen as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Hollywood, she realised at the age of 25 that she was being typecast as sexy characters in movies.
'I sort of went through a life crisis,' she confessed. I was like, "This isn't what I set out to be. I'm so much more than this, but I don't know how not to be a sex symbol."'
'My sexuality made me very uncomfortable': The actress confessed she had a hard time being seen as a sex symbol after her big break in Dark Angel. She is seen here in a shot from the show in 2002

Jessica, who was raised Catholic, recalled having a hard time being seen as a sex object after her breakout role in Dark Angel when she was a teenager.
'My sexuality made me very uncomfortable,' she told InStyle.
'I remember my first Maxim shoot, they were telling me to pose a certain way, and I was like, "Agh! I'm 19. I'm a virgin. I don't even know how to do that." It was so awkward.'
But after her 'life crisis' at the age of 25, Jessica revealed that everything fell into place when she fell pregnant with her first child.

She may still be a teenager, but super star Zendaya Coleman is on a roll when it comes to her skyrocketing career.
Now the star and co-producer of Disney's KC Undercover, Zendaya has revealed what it took for her to return to the channel.

The actress added that she was keen to see more diversity on Disney.
'One thing that is really important to me is diversity on the channel. It's hard as a young person of a different ethnicity or background to look at the TV and not see anyone who looks like you.
'Representation is very important,' she said.
Zendaya also discussed a racially insensitive moment she experienced when speaking with a publicist at some point in her career.

Recalling the conversation, Zendaya told the magazine the publicist advised her  to 'be happy' with a hairstyle she disliked during a photo shoot as 'they haven't had a black girl on the cover since forever.'
'She's no longer my publicist,' the teen added of the matter.
Zendaya starred opposite Bella Thorne on Disney's Shake It Up! from 2010 to 2013, and she also had a leading role in the network's 2014 TV movie, Zapped.

'I would much rather be in love and have the full experience with the person I'm doing that with. Everyone deserves to be in love—it's different from when you're with someone you don't really know!' she said.
Zendaya, meanwhile, continues to shine in the acting realm.
The star confirmed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she would star in the next Spider-Man film.
'When it comes to the acting space, I'm basically unknown. I've never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else,' she explained.
'I auditioned and auditioned and auditioned and [broke] down those walls because a lot of people do have that pre-conceived notion of who I am based off previous things I've done, so you got to really break that down and go hard, put in the work, take all the meetings, take all the auditions.'
