Turning up to an event in the same or similar outfit to another woman is up there as one of women’s worst nightmares.

But fortunately for Michelle Keegan and Kym Lomas, although they both might have opted for monochrome, they picked vastly different looks.

And while Michelle, 26, opted to cover up in a loose fitting jumpsuit, Kym, 37, was more than happy to show off her shape in a tight fitting number.

Revealing not a bump or lump, Kym, who plays Michelle Connor on the soap, looked in high spirits as she greeted waiting fans outside.

The striped dress, which fell just below her knees, was teamed with a simple pair of flip flops and her dark brown hair fell loose to her shoulders.

Clearly happy to be at work, the star tweeted: ‘Cobbles time!! Such amazing weather do not mind working outside today!’

Delighted: Kym looked really happy to greet her fans who had waited to meet her

Michelle meanwhile looked equally as great in black and white all-in-one which she teamed with a pair of jade coloured wedges and her favourite pink handbag.

Her brown hair was clipped to the side and fell in waves around her shoulders.

Joined by her co-star Chris Fountain she popped out to pick a bite to eat for lunch and was seen leaving an eatery with two brown paper bags full to the brim of goodies.

The pretty star seemed happy to be back at work after spending the weekend in Dublin where she helped a club celebrate their birthday.

Her boyfriend, Mark Wright, is currently filming in Australia so Michelle is no doubt keeping as busy as she can until he returns.

Kym meanwhile recently returned from a girly holiday to Marbella to celebrate a friend’s birthday where she looked like she was having a great time.

This may have something to do with the fact that former Hear’Say singer may get the chance to record a track with Snoop Lion.

The rapper, 41, is reportedly a great fan of the soap and of Kym’s character Michelle Connor in particular.

A source told The Sun: ‘Snoop's gone on record a load of times saying he loves Corrie. There's even been talk of him appearing on the show.

'His favourite character is Michelle Connor. He thinks she's very sexy.'

It is reported that the collaboration was suggested by David Gest, who is a mutual friend of the pair.

The source added: ‘Snoop heard David knew Kym, so he asked him to approach her about being in one of his videos. He spoke to Kym and she loved the idea.’

Michelle Keegan has announced she is leaving Coronation Street after six years of playing Tina McIntyre.

The brunette actress, 25, will bow out of the ITV soap in Spring 2014 to focus on other acting roles.

The soap star's big announcement comes as her character Tina is pregnant with a surrogate child for friends Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong.

ITV confirmed in a statement on their website on Saturday that would Michelle was leaving the show after completing her contract.

The actress said: 'I have had the most amazing 6 years at Coronation Street and it was such a difficult decision to leave. But I felt it was the right time for me to make the next step in my career.

'I will miss Tina and will always be grateful to ITV and Coronation Street for giving me such an amazing role to play for my first ever acting job. Most of all I will miss the amazing people who work on the show, my acting colleagues, cast, crew, producers and writing team. I have met people who I know will be friends for life.

'I am very excited about what the coming months hold for Tina and what the future has in store for me.'

Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn added: 'There is more than a year of drama to come for Tina McIntyre before we bid farewell to Michelle and plans are already being made for what will be a powerful and gripping story. We will be sorry to see Michelle go but wish her every success for the future.'

However, a friend close to the star said her burgeoning relationship with ex-The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright has nothing to do with her decision to quit.

In fact, Michelle is determined to remain in Manchester rather than move down to London.

A source told The Sun: 'This was her first proper acting job. She is really grateful for that, but feels the time’s right to do something new.'

Back in February, Michelle told of her wish to try other acting roles and admitted she would love to be in a period drama.

She said: 'I really want to do a period drama – something like The Tudors or Downton Abbey.

'I’m working on the accent at the moment!'

Michelle first appeared in Corrie in January 2008 when she clashed with future stepmother Gail McIntyre at the medical centre.

She soon started dating bad boy David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and fell pregnant with his baby, but was persuaded by Gail to abort it.

She was also left heartbroken and depressed when her father Joe died in a boating accident on honeymoon after marrying Gail, later finding solace in David's best friend Graeme Proctor's (Craig Gazey) arms.

Last year, Tina found love again with Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain).

However, in a bid to pay off his debts, she agreed to enter into a surrogacy agreement with Gary and Izzy.

Her role as host for the evening was to inspire people to dig deep for charity.

And Michelle Keegan certainly did that in not just one but two eye-catching outfits at The Inspiration Ovarian Cancer North West charity fashion in Manchester on Saturday evening.

Taking her role as host very seriously the Coronation Street star went from red-hot goddess to flirty and sparkly party girl throughout the course of the evening.

Starting the evening off on a sophisticated note the 25-year-old looked stunning in a full-length red dress with silver detailing.

In keeping with her sleek look she wore her hair straight and half off her face, while she completed her look with eyeliner flicks that created a glamorous feel.

Later in the evening as the event was in full swing Michelle changed her outfit entirely choosing a dramatic and sparkling dress with puff ball skirt and one puff sleeve.

The length of the dress meant her slim and tanned legs were on display, and she even changed her hair making it appear messier in a popular ‘just got out of bed’ kind of way.

Her racy second outfit came after her boyfriend Mark Wright’s mum Carol revealed that he may not like some of the sexier shoots she does.

Speaking to Love It!, Carol said: 'He may get jealous of those sexy shoots she does. He’s a proud, old-fashioned boy and he might be bothered that the other boys will be seeing his girlfriend like that. But as long as they’re not too risqué, he’ll be fine.'

Michelle, who plays Tine McIntyre in the soap, has been an ambassador the caner charity a while and has hosted events for them over the last two years.

On Saturday the show featured clothes from Boohoo.com, Renee Marion, Ringspun and Rosie Olivia Milliner.

Speaking to Viva recently Michelle revealed why she got involved with charity in the first place.

She said: ‘I decided to get involved with the charity because I lost my grandma to ovarian cancer 3 years ago. Not a day goes by when I don’t think about her and I want to try and raise money for vital research into prevention and cure.’

Michelle also admitted she liked the Manchester connection to the charity, saying: ‘I love Manchester and I’m proud to say I am a Mancunian. It’s very important to raise awareness for local charities as they often get overlooked for the bigger national ones.’

She's been seen showing off her trim and toned stomach in a white bikini on holiday recently - so fans might be a little surprised to see Michelle Keegan's latest Twitter picture.

The 25-year-old actress, who split from fiancé Max George earlier this year, is seen showing off a burgeoning baby bump in the snap.

But the Coronation Street star isn't actually pregnant, she has been showing off her latest costume for character Tina McIntyre on the Manchester-based soap.

As well as uploading the picture to the social networking site Michelle posted: 'Have i eaten all the pies?? Nope it's the first day with Tina's baby bump!!'

It appears that Michelle's latest pregnant storyline has left her feeling rather broody.

She told the Mirror: 'I’m broody anyway so when I heard about this storyline, I was so excited. I thought, ‘I hope I get to keep the baby.'

Michelle went on to say that she believes she will get ‘really attached’ to the prosthetic tummy.

'I’ve been eyeing it up for years. When Samia Smith was pregnant on screen as Maria I’d try her bump on and take pictures of myself.'

'I’m sure when I’m wearing it for 12 hours a day it will seem really strange when I have to take it off to go home.'

Miss Keegan's character is currently causing controversy on the street after becoming a surrogate.

The Rovers Return barmaid has agreed to carry a child for Izzy Armstrong and Gary Windass much to the distress of her boyfriend Tommy Duckworth, played by Chris Fountain.

Over the weekend Michelle and Chris attended the Christmas light switch-on in Reading.

The pair obviously have a close bond on and off screen and were seen laughing and joking together as they stood on the stage.

Speaking of her recent heartbreak, she said: 'Obviously it was a very sad time for us, as we were together for 19 months. But I got to think of it as, "I'm not the only girl who has ever had a break-up".

'The worst part for me was having the whole thing played out so publicly. In the end, I had to simply ignore the gossip and throw myself in my work.'
