Kim Kardashian may well have had a young Sophia Loren in mind when she donned a short wig for Italian magazine.

But in new stills released from L'Uomo Vogue, the reality TV star instead looks just like her mother.

The 31-year-old is the mirror image of the famous Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, 56.

Kim wears a racy animal skin dress in one seductive set up and in another, wears a blazer, shirt and pussy-bow - which is one of Kris Jenner's signature looks.

Other images show Kim ever the glamour-queen, wrapped in a feathered gown and clutching an embossed blazer shut as she ducks through a fury of flashbulbs, oversized sunglasses shielding her eyes.

The shoot was filmed on the streets of Los Angeles in May by photographer Francesco Carrozzini and styled by contributing fashion editor Rushka Bergman.

Her boyfriend Kanye West was also on the set, keeping an eye on proceedings from behind the scenes.

Kim's relationship with the rapper is clearly going from strength to strength and recently opened up about her romance in an interivew with Oprah Winfrey. 

She said she was close to her boyfriend because they could both relate to losing a parent at a young age.

She said: 'It's very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you, that respects you, understands, has gone through the similar things. 

'I can really relate to his mother passing. He can really relate to my father passing. I mean, there's so many similarities in our life that ... I feel like I'm at a really happy, good space.'

She teased fans in true form last month with a behind the scenes glimpse into her first cover shoot for  Vogue magazine - albeit the Italian men's version.

But there is a touch of irony in Kim Kardashian's paparazzi-themed editorial for the Italian fashion bible now pouring onto news stands.

The reality star, who has built her empire by inviting television producers to record her life, tells the magazine there is one intangible luxury she regrets not being able to afford: her privacy.

A black-and-white image of the raven-haired 31-year-old introduces the reality star to readers of L'Uomo Vogue in a familiar scene.

Chased by paparazzi through the streets of Los Angeles, the photos by Francesco Carrozzini are a parody of Kim's own creation as the breakout star of her family's television hit Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Entitled 'Just Unconventional', the editorial features Kim running, top hat in hand, through a parking lot.

Her face, relaxed, and eyes focused in the distance, seem to tell the story of a woman more concerned about her look unravelling before the cameras rather than out-running the lot.

Other images show Kim ever the glamour-queen, wrapped in a feathered gown and, for the cover, clutching an embossed blazer shut as she ducks through a fury of flashbulbs, oversized sunglasses shielding her eyes.

Styled by contributing fashion editor Rushka Bergman, she wears a cropped wig that makes a comparison to her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, impossible to miss.

The matriarch, Kim says, is largely responsible for her surge of success.

'My mother, who is also my manager, teaches me something new every day; she’s an amazing person, a strong woman who raised six children, and I’m very proud of her,' Kim says.

'I’ve always been very shy, ever since I was a girl: I copied and did everything my sister Kourtney asked me to do, even when at school she would put me in embarrassing situations with boys. She was my idol'.

The reality star briefly opened up about her blossoming romance with longtime friend, Kanye West.

And although the rapper was present for the entire interview, Kim says their relationship is off-limits from the press.

'In the past I suffered a lot because of my honesty, and when it didn’t work I was criticized and treated badly: I can only say that now, with him, I’m happy,' she says.

Asked to describe any regrets she may have, Kim had one simple note: 'Lack of privacy.'

'Everyone is always watching me, I’m under constant observation, everywhere I go there’s a camera following me, in the gym, when I do the shopping, and if I decide to go out without make-up it makes news throughout the world.'

The 31-year-old seems to believe, despite living largely in front of the cameras, she is misunderstood.

Setting the record straight, she explains: 'Yes I was born rich; it was a classic Californian lineage: lavishness and ostentation, luxury mansions with pools, private clubs, exclusive friendships, and luxury cars.

'Despite the affluence, at only 31 I’ve been able to build my own empire in the world of entertainment and, although looks and friendships are important, I want the new generation to understand that if you don’t believe in yourself and in your own ideas, you go nowhere.'
