Pixie Lott and Ellie Goulding lead the celebrity glamour on the opening day of Wimbledon 2014

Game set and match! Pixie Lott and Ellie Goulding lead the celebrity glamour on the opening day of Wimbledon 2014

With England packing their bags in preparation for an early flight home following a disastrous World Cup campaign, all eyes looked to South London on Monday as the opening day of Wimbledon got underway.
Leading the glamour in the Evian Live Young Suite – where celebs had gathered ahead of the opening match – was songstress Pixie Lott, who caught the eye in a daring white crop top and gingham print skirt.
The 23-year-old matched her outfit with a sleeveless white jacket and crepe soled shoes as she posed for photos with model boyfriend Oliver Cheshire shortly after arriving on Monday afternoon.

A smart white leather handbag rounded off Pixie’s look, and she kept the accessory slung over her right shoulder while mixing with her fellow celebrity guests.
They included fellow singer Ellie Goulding, who opted for a surprisingly demure monochrome ensemble ahead of her day at the tennis.
The 27-year-old sported breezy semi-sheer top and black satin shorts – a look she teamed with a pair of strappy nude ankle boots.

With her flaxen locks loose and naturally parted, Ellie was in high spirits as she chatted with pals over a glass of white wine.
Other guests on the day included actress Joely Richardson, who gamely tried her hand at a spot of table tennis shortly after making her way inside the VIP Wimbledon suite.
Fashion forward Jameela Jamil was also in attendance, and she caught the eye thanks to her smart black dress as she posed for photos with close pals Rizzle Kicks.

As temperatures continued to soar in London the attractive presenter had somewhat bizarrely opted to drape a knee-length Macintosh across her shoulders -  and the garment jarred with an otherwise summer ready look.
While many opted for smart dresses and trousers, Saturdays singer Vanessa White bucked the trend by opting for ripped jeans, matching them with a smart white blouse and snappy gold stiletto heels.
Elsewhere Birmingham based star Laura Mvula was on song in a vibrant orange mini-dress that complimented her darker skin tone and ensured she was hard to miss as she sashayed inside.

The singer teamed her outfit with a pair of mismatched lemon yellow heels, while obligatory shades rounded off the look with typical aplomb.
Wimbledon follows the bitter disappointments suffered by the England team  and their loyal fans at the World Cup finals in Brazil.
The opening day will take in matches by Novak Dkokovic, Li Na, Tomas Berdych, James Ward and last year’s Men’s Singles champion, Andy Murray.

Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall flashes her knickers as the celebs brave the wind at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

It seems the windy affects of last week's 'hurricane' are still affecting the British Isles, or more particularly, the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards as Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall saw her skirt blow up in her face.
The popstar was walking the red carpet with bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock when a breeze caught the hemline of her grey skirt.
Luckily, Jade managed to get a perfectly manicured hand down in time to prevent her little knickers remaining on show for too long.
Scroll down for video and full list of winners

    Edit
And she had a little help from Perrie too, who kept a hand on Thirlwall's derriere throughout the interviews outside at Wembley Arena.
Edwards didnt seem to have the same issue as the skirt of her dress was more form-fitting in a tulip shape, while Leigh-Anne wouldn't have a problem in a nude jumpsuit.
Jesy had opted for a black, sheer panelled pencil skirt to go with her netted crop top, however there were a few other celebrities how may have been a bit worried about a strong breeze.

Taylor Swift arrived in a rich green fifties-style dress with gold embellishment all across in finite detail,
The American country singer's hair blew back and forth as she posed for the cameras, and one hopes that Celebrity Big Brother winner Charlotte Crosby's full skirted dress didn't go the same way as Jade Thirlwall's.
Hosting the event was Nick Grimshaw with Rita Ora, who didn't disappoint in the style stakes with a texture floral white coat dress with simple white strappy sandals and a nude lip colour to create an ice queen look.

Similarly, Pixie Lott opted for a somewhat Arctic ensemble by wearing a pale blue skirt, white jacket, stripped crop top and white mesh heels, with her platinum blonde given a sleek straightened look.
Fern Cotton brought some animal magnetism to her wardrobe by wearing a roaring tiger T-shirt over a neon green skirt and black opaque tights.
Jameela Jamil looked trendy in an all-black outfit complete with fur coat and gold embellished tights while Icona Pop wore one half of the same yellow sequinned jacket and trouser set with black accessories.
