Chris Brown apologized on late Sunday night after accusing his on-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran of sleeping with the rapper Drake.

But the contrite message, posted to his Instagram, may have come too late as the couple appear to have split last week.

And on Monday, just hours after Brown's groveling apology, the 26-year-old model was spotted soaking up the sun on Miami Beach without an apparent care in the world.

The occasional model frolicked in the water wearing a white crop top, which she later removed, and matching string bikini bottoms.

Karrueche's long dark hair flowed in the wind as she playfully dipped her toes in the sea before heading back to the warm sand for some sun tanning.

Once on a beach recliner she stripped off her top to reveal a bikini top with the words 'Taco Bae' written across her chest.

Meanwhile, Chris wrote, summing up his feelings in a grovelling apology on his Instagram account: 'I just want baby girl to know I apologise.'

Before his apology, Chris had ranted on a different Instagram post about Karrueche, 'I was locked up for damn near 4 months and only got 1 visit from you while u was hosting parties and taking secret trips to Toronto, going on dates with Drake!

Karrueche then retaliated with: 'I refuse to be repeatedly mistreated by someone that claims to love me. That's not love. And if that's what you define as love then I don't want it.'

But it seems Chris has not tried to put a stop to all the arguing in public.

'Being young and dumb is one of my strong suits and emotional at best,' Chris said on Sunday evening.

'I love hard and react impulsively when I'm hurt at times. I don't think social media is a place to air out or has out personal problems. So I am APOLOGISING! I live in a glass house and the same s*** that makes me great also is my curse. Everyone knows I love that girl.'

Karrueche is yet to respond to the apology.

It is not the first time Chris has first had to apologise to a girlfriend - he was placed on probation in 2009 after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Meanwhile, sources have told TMZ that Drake is furious he has been linked to Karrueche - because she's not even his type.

According to the website, he acknowledges hanging out with Karrueche in his native Toronto, but only because she was friends with a woman he was seeing.
