EXCLUSIVE: 'It's becoming a horrible circle of hate': Lucy Mecklenburgh vows to promote body positivity as she blasts trolls … after being 'skinny-shamed' for Coachella snap
She’s built a successful fitness empire since turning her back on The Only Way Is Essex in 2013.
And Lucy Mecklenburgh has worked hard to get fit, healthy and happy, showing off her incredible figure in new Results With Lucy campaign images alongside her little sister Lydia, who is acting as the new student brand ambassador in a new programme with 25% off in conjunction with UNiDAYS.
But despite her perfectly toned and trim figure, Lucy is no stranger to negative comments from trolls, who will stop at nothing to tear people down for the smallest of things.

In the wake of her interview with MailOnline, the brunette beauty was branded ‘too thin’ and told to ‘eat something’ by cruel trolls on social media after she posted a slender snap of herself in a crop top at Coachella Festival.
She said: ‘It’s got to stop. Body shaming is horrible. With social media these days it becomes a vicious cycle. A lot of people are doing it to celebrities and they’re getting thinner, it’s becoming a horrible circle of hate.
‘I’ve noticed with bloggers and celebs recently they’re a trend of supporting each other, I love that. It doesn’t always have to be about weight, it’s about embracing other women and loving yourself and positivity.’

Lucy, who regularly delights her followers with sexy swimwear snaps and post-workout selfies, insists that getting fit shouldn’t be about the number on the scales.
She said: ‘The transformation is more about mindset, it makes you feel great. You have more energy, your skin’s better, you might be losing weight but it’s a combined thing. It’s waking up happy every morning.’
Lucy confessed that her sculpted abs and slim waistline are no longer her favourite body part in the run-up to summer - thanks to some very intense workouts.
‘I’ve been doing a lot of ballet workouts and my bum has been on fire! Now I feel beach bum ready!’, she said.

The TV star believes the reason why her online business is thriving where others have failed is down to the positive, educational nature of her brand.
Slamming ‘extreme weight loss’ DVDs – which have been fronted by the likes of Charlotte Crosby, Vicky Pattison and Frankie Essex – naturally svelte Lucy insists she has always championed health and long-term results over rapid slimming.
She explained: ‘I guess I stood out in the market at the beginning because it was like – you haven’t lost five stone, so how have you got the right to champion being fit? I love what I do, but it’s about changing people’s mindset and educating them.
‘That’s the thing I find very worrying now, it’s very easy to sell a slimming pill, an extreme weight loss DVD, but if you don’t get to the root of the problem and educate people about how to be healthy – like what rules to live by in terms of meals – you’re not really making a difference to someone’s life in the long run. It’s all about being healthy and a long term goal.’

Lucy has also teamed up with her younger sister Lydia to help penny-saving students join in, making Lydia an ambassador for the company and offering a special 25 percent discount to young people.
She recalled: ‘Lydia went away for fresher’s week and came home three months later and it was like she had been blown up. Her face was huge, she said: “I feel awful, I’ve been drinking and eating rubbish!” She decided to make a change, she started training with me.
However, that’s not to say there isn’t any rivalry between the two siblings when they go head-to-head in the gym.

Stunner: Lucy laughed: ‘She’s actually very fit, her body’s incredible. Lydia is very chilled out – but if there’s a plank hold competition, or how many sit ups can you do, then there’s definitely rivalry there between us. It makes you work harder!'

Lucy also reflected on whether a TOWIE reunion could be on the cards, hinting that while she wouldn’t do a Gemma Collins and return full-time, fans might see her in the last ever series to give the long-running reality show the send-off it deserves.
She explained: ‘I would never rule it out. I would love to do a last one-off show and bring everyone back. I think we all need to thank the show for a lot.
'It was really fun, I made lots of friends, and it would be a good farewell one day. I do love watching it – even if I don’t know 70 percent of the cast anymore!’
Beach Body available at the Results With Lucy website for £39.
