The actress will join the growing cast of Fox's comedy-horror anthology series when it debuts this autumn.
On the same day, the show's lead Emma Roberts revealed on her Instagram account that the pilot episode will hit TV screens on September 22; however the world premiere takes place at San Diego's Comic-Con in July.
Charisma's last recurring role was on ABC Family teen drama The Lying Game, which only lasted two seasons; before that she had an 11-episode run on Veronica Mars.

Besides that she has appeared in dozens of standalone episodes of TV shows and TV movies, but fans most remember her for her role as Sarah Michelle Gellar's ditzy and ridiculously vain sidekick and Xander's on-again girlfriend on the first three seasons of Buffy.
She went on to play the same character, although with the newly developed ability to see visions of people in need as a plot driver, for five seasons of the spin-off Angel, with David Boreanaz.
Scream Queens, created by Glee's Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy, has been described as 'Mean Girls meets Friday the 13th' by Roberts. The show tells the story of a college campus that is rocked by a series of murders.

It also stars Jamie Lee Curtis as the college dean, along with Lea Michele, Abagail Breslin, Joe Jonas, as well as carpenter's 'daughter' Grande.
Early reviews for the series are very positive; according to E!, which seen the entire first episode, Roberts, Jonas and even Michele put in hilarious turns, even though the latter - who plays Hester 'Neckbrace' and suffers with scoliosis - doesn't say a single word.
'In all sincerity, it's perhaps the most thoroughly enjoyable TV show that's premiered in years. Outrageous. Hilarious. And just so much FUN,' it wrote.

The teeny tiny singer said she can tell if a demon is near and talks about how she fearlessly flew over a Hellmouth. As you do.

Ariana's not a fan of angels either, apparently
Ariana Grande is a woman of many talents and it appears demon hunting is one of them.
There's not really any other way of putting it, but the pint-sized pop princess says that she can smell demons and a whole host of other weird stuff that would put Buffy the Vampire Slayer to shame.
In an interview from 2013, little Ari makes some - er - bold claims about her relationship with the supernatural.
"We were in Kansas City a few weeks ago and went to this haunted castle and we were so excited," she told Complex magazine.

"The next night we wanted to go to Stull Cementary, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth."
Is it really Ariana? We must have missed that in the brochures.
"The Pope won't fly over it," she continues.
Uh huh. On his many trips to Texas, we guess.
"I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulphur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon."
Cyrus
Has anyone alerted the authorities? This is serious.
But don't worry - while Buffy would grab her weapons and kick some serious demon behind, Ariana is a much more of a lover than a fighter.
"I rolled down the window before we left and said, 'We apologise. We didn't mean to disrupt your peace.'"
Unlike previous demon hunters, Ariana was smart enough to take a picture of the demons.
"Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture - they're faces of textbook demons."
Textbook. Demons.
Cyrus
Unfortunately Ariana deleted the photographic proof of the "textbook demons" but that's when the situation gets even weirder.
"I deleted it. The next day I tried to send the picture to my manager and it said, 'This file can't be sent, it's 666 megabytes.'
"I'm not kidding. I used to have a folder called 'Demons' that had pictures with all the screencaps in it, but then weird things started happening to me so I deleted it."
Ariana then went on to describe an incident she had in bed where she heard "whispers", saw  "really disturbing images" due to some "massive black matter" in her room.

"It was like a cloud of something black right next to me. I started crying. I was on the phone like, 'What do I do, what do I do?' and they said, 'Tell it to eff off'."
Naturally Justin Bieber's selfie-friend refused.
"I'm not going to do that. It's going to upset it, so I'm just going to chill and not feed into it because all it wants is fear. It feeds on fear. I watched it move to the front of my bed and then I fell asleep on the phone. I woke up and it was gone."
Buffy would not approve.

Bring back Buffy! Sarah Michelle Gellar reveals there could be a new vampire slayer movie.

Bring back Buffy! Sarah Michelle Gellar reveals there could be a new vampire slayer movie... as she picks up her little ballerina

Playing Buffy Summers was the role that made her an international star.
And 36-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed that she would be interested in bringing Buffy The Vampire Slayer back to life on the big screen if the story was right.
The actress does already have her hands full and was on 'mommy duty' in Los Angeles on Saturday as she picked up her three-year-old daughter Charlotte from her ballet class.

Sarah - who is married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr - wore a shoulder-less white blouse with baggy denims and suede ankle boots on the warm summer day.
With her hair tied back and sporting large sunglasses Sarah carried Charlotte, who wore a pink tutu and matching vest and shoes for her class.
The original Buffy was a 1992 film starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry about a teenage cheerleader from the Valley who finds out she is the 'chosen one' to hunt vampires before it premiered five years later as a television show starring Sarah.

The show built up a cult following with millions of fans around the world before it was pulled off the small screen in 2003.
And now Hollywood is buzzing about rumours that it could be brought back to the life in a big screen reprisal, and the actress has indicated that she would be interested if the story was right.
'My joke is, at this point, the stake would be my walker and I would be hobbling in,' Gellar, 36, joked with E! News during a recent interview.
'Joss (Whedon, who created Buffy) and I always talk about (a movie),' she continued. 'But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn't work as a film.

'And we had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie. And one of the reasons, I think, is that the story works better over time.
'If there was ever the right story to tell, we would certainly do it. But I think there is also a great fear in that, and rightfully so.'
The original Buffy movie only took a meager $4 million on its opening weekend and $16 million domestically.
But the franchise still has a huge fan base and they could start a Kickstarter campaign to make any new movie a real possibility.

A similar campaign for Veronica Mars surpassed its $2 million target by to reach $5.7 million.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary of the television show's finale episode Gellar revealed that she was delighted about the fan base and proud of what the series achieved while on the air.
She told the Huffington Post: 'I'm incredibly proud of that show - proud of everybody on it, of what we did ... You can't be prouder of that show.
'It still holds up in reruns and I'm blessed every day ... I've been pretty lucky.'
