Chloe Grace Moretz 'set to become one of Hollywood's highest paid teens' thanks to bumper $550,000 deal for The Equalizer

She landed her big break playing a foul-mouthed child vigilante in 2010's Kick-Ass.

Now four years on, Chloe Grace Moretz is on the verge of being one of the highest-paid teen actors in Hollywood.

According to TMZ, the 17-year-old has won a bumper pay day for her role as a Russian teenage prostitute in The Equalizer.

Not that money is a motivator for the charming 17-year-old, who changed her outlook on which projects to choose after taking some sage advice from veteran director Steven Soderbergh, who she worked alongside in off-Broadway play The Library.

She told The Independent that the filmmaker told her to only work on films that she would do for free, adding: 'And that’s how I’ve always lived my life.

'I’ve never been like, "I’m only going to do this project if I get paid $5m!"… I’ve never lived my life in that way.'

As for her controversial new role alongside Denzel, the actress insists she was drawn to the script because of its inspirational take on a troubled young female character.

She told MTV: 'That's what attracted me to the script. She's a girl who was sexualized by life, but the movie completely unsexualized her.

'You don't see that with a lot of young female characters in general, but especially when you're playing a prostitute, or a lady of the night... It's usually very much exploited.'

Despite her determination to remain out of the spotlight and focus on her work, Chloe has hit headlines over her blossoming friendship with Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria.

She was recently quizzed about their rumoured romance on US TV, and a flustered Chloe couldn't help but praise her new pal.

She said: 'I don't know ... he's a very good guy. He’s a good person, I enjoying hanging out with him!'

Chloe Moretz has spent the last few years in Los Angeles, but she grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.

So it's no surprise the 17-year-old actress looked right at home during a screening of her new film The Equalizer while in that historic city.

The star smiled happily as she worked the red carpet in a short black-and-white dress.

Feels good to be back: Chloe Moretz smiled warmly while on the red carpet of a screening for her new film The Equalizer on Tuesday in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia

Pointy black pumps added five extra inches to her petite frame. She wore no jewelry except a pair of earrings.

The blonde wore her long locks parted in the middle and styled in soft barrel curls. Her makeup was modest but flattering with light eyeshadow and pink lipstick.

Ludacris was also on hand to help her promote the new movie which will be released in the US on September 26.

While Chloe was in George, her co-star Denzel Washington was promoting the action-packed movie in Berlin.

Wearing a black sweatshirt with wrinkled jeans and black-and-white sneakers, he was far more dressed down than his female lead.

Moretz gushed about working with the legend, tweeting, “My fav part was getting to play opposite Denzel [Washington], he’s really a master class in acting (sic).'

'The chance to work opposite Denzel and Antoine (Fuqua) was one in a lifetime,' she said in another message.

The film is a big-screen version of the hit TV show. Washington plays a commando who comes out of hiding to rescue a young girl and battle Russian baddies. 

Chloe’s had quite a unique career already having been in everything from Kick-Ass to Dirty Sexy Money to Muppets Most Wanted.

The star was featured on the cover of Teen Vogue's October Young Hollywood edition and revealed in an interview what she likes most about her rumored boyfriend Brooklyn.

'What I find really interesting about Brooklyn – and what I really love about that kid – is that he is passionate about what he wants, which is to be a professional soccer player,' she told the monthly.

'And I enjoy someone who is on my level with the seriousness kind of thing,' she added.

Chloe and Brooklyn, 15, have been spending time together skateboarding and going to spin class. And when it comes to going out, the young actress reveals she is very responsible.

'I've never been the kid who wants to do crazy stuff,' she said. 'I tell my mom where I'm going. It's a pool party – I'm sure people are going to be drinking. But I'm not going to be drinking. I have a control issue. I like knowing who's around me.' 

On Monday, Chloe landed in Atlanta to begin work on her new project, The Fifth Wave, which follows the story of a young girl during an alien invasion who goes searching for her little brother, according to MTV.com.

The If I Stay star told the website that she became interested in the role because it was unlike other films.

'It’s a lot more in-depth than "I love this boy" or "I love this guy,"' she said. 'It’s realistic again, which is why I haven’t done any of these YA projects until now.

The pair soon discover they are actually being set up by the mob to steal $50 million from the CIA.

X-Men star James Marsden plays the Naval commander who orders Mark around on the heist thriller, which has a reported budget of $80 million.

It may have been freezing, but Kelly Reilly and Jessica-Jane Clement certainly set temperatures rising at the London premiere of Flight on Thursday night.

Redhead Kelly showed off her toned physique in a red hot strapless gown as she joined her Flight co-star Denzel Washington at the Leicester Square screening.

Despite the cold, both Kelly, 35, and Denzel, 58, thrilled the hundreds of fans waiting outside the Empire cinema by signing autographs and posing for photos.

Meanwhile, former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! pin-up Jessica-Jane, 27, showed off her curves in a plunging red Celeb Boutique 'Vanessa' dress.

Also at the premiere were TOWIE couple Joey Essex and Sam Faiers, Sky Sports News presenter Charlotte Jackson, Sugababes singer Jade Ewen, pop star Jamelia and TV presenter Zoe Salmon.

Like Kelly and Jessica-Jane, Charlotte - who progressed to the semis of Splash! last weekend - wore a red asymmetrical Pia Michi dress.

Kelly, who starred as Mary Watson in the recent Sherlock Holmes movies, plays a recovering heroin addict Nicole.

In a recent interview, Denzel admitted he abstained from alcohol during the film, but over-indulged in food so he could look bloated.

He told Seven magazine: 'I absolutely did not drink the entire picture. Normally I might have a glass of wine after work or something like that.

'But on this one I was afraid I might get too into it, and I just wanted to be clear. I want to give 100 per cent of myself and I want to be focused.

The drama has been nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Denzel.

Flight is due for release in the UK on February 1.
