Rosamund Pike, Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon make a stylish entrance at daytime Oscar nominee event

Leading ladies who lunch! Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon make a stylish entrance at daytime Oscar nominee event

There's a certain stamina needed throughout awards season - that requires actors to look their best at all times of the day.
Which is why Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore got dressed up to the nines for a lunch time event on Monday - the 87th Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The leading ladies - both vying for an Oscar this year in the Best Actress category - led the glamorous red-carpet arrivals at the star-studded daytime event.

Witherspoon, 38, looked stunning in a monochrome cocktail dress and matching strappy heels.
Meanwhile Moore, 54, matched the red carpet in a knee-length rouge ensemble.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Patricia Arquette, 46, looked stylish in a fitted white outfit, while Best Actress nominee Marion Cotillard, 39, went for an odd choice of dress, which appeared to feature a print of an avocado.

Emma Stone - nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Birdman - proved her fashionista status in a shiny striped top and polka-dot dress.
The Academy Awards won't happen until the end of the month on 22 February, but there's plenty of swish events for the nominees to attend ahead of the big night.
The Theory Of Everything stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones also attended, who have been nominated for their roles.

Redmayne is a hot favourite to win in the Best Actor category, but has to beat fellow favourite Michael Keaton for his role in Birdman.
The host of the night Neil Patrick Harris, was also in attendance at the luncheon on Monday in a smart suit.
Harris stars in Gone Girl, which has received several Oscar nods, including a Best Actress nominee for Rosamund Pike.

The pair shared a very shocking sex scene in the David Fincher movie, which will perhaps provide Harris with a funny line or two on the night.
Harris takes over from the tried and tested talents of Ellen DeGeneres, who last year provided the highlight of getting A-list stars to pose for the ultimate selfie.
Inside the event, Boyhood director Richard Linklater was seen posing the movie's breakout star Ellar Coltrane.
Although Coltrane, 20, has not been nominated for an Academy Awards, he has won widespread acclaim for his central role in the drama.
The movie is up for top prizes such as Best Picture and Best Director, as well as the Best Supportive Actress nod for Arquette.

Newly-engaged Keira Knightley arrives at Seeking a Friend for the End of the World film premiere

Newly-engaged Keira Knightley has something to smile about as she arrives at film premiere looking like a princess

She recently became engaged to her rocker boyfriend James Righton after more than a year of dating.
And having a fiancé waiting in the wings has clearly given Keira Knightley something to smile about.
The 27-year-old British actress glowed with happiness as she arrived at tonight's premiere of her new film Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

The star looked almost regal in a stunning maroon floral headdress which she teamed with a beautiful light tan Valentino gown, embroidered with colourful flowers.
Subtle brown eye-make-up, nude lipstick and beige shoes completed the look.
And of course, Keira proudly flashed the diamond engagement ring she received from the Klaxons rocker last month.
The London-born star, 27, started dating the 28-year-old musician last year after being introduced by a mutual friend - British TV presenter Alexa Chung.
Since they started dating, the couple have kept their romance under wraps and are yet to pose together on a red carpet.
The Oscar-nominated star previously went out with her Pride & Prejudice co-star Rupert Friend for five years before they split back in January last year.
Keira's new film follows characters Dodge (Steve Carell) and Penny(Knightley) who learn that the end of the world is coming after a laser sent to space to protect earth from an asteroid impact has failed in its mission.
Dodge goes on a road trip in search of his high school sweetheart and is accompanied by Penny.
'We know that we've got 20 days left and what do you do with the last 20 days?' Keira asked Jimmy Fallon when speaking about the film during an appearance on his late night talk show last week.

'Is it orgies or riots or taking every single drug that you've ever taken?' she mused. 'Then you've got these two characters who kind of can't figure it out so they go on a road trip to try to find an ex-girlfriend of his.'
And Keira certainly enjoyed working with co-star Carell, who arrived at tonight's premiere with unfamiliar designer stubble and glasses.
'He is an amazing man. He's just the best. It's about the end of the world, which is an unlikely topic for Steve to choose,' said Keira.

Meanwhile, Carell has been counting his lucky stars over being able to work with such stunning actresses.
'How did I end up in films with people like Keira Knightley and Julianne Moore? he recently told Parade. 'All these beautiful leading ladies and me - it’s kind of shocking.'
Tonight's premiere formed part of the ten-day-long Los Angeles Film Festival and also attracted pregnant Drew Barrymore who plumped for casual jeans, boots, black blazer and baggy black T-shirt.

The film's writer and director Lorene Scafaria opted for a more glamorous look in a knee-length white dress and open toed black shoes.
Actresses Melanie Lynskey, Connie Britton and Gillian Jacobs, who all appear in the film, also arrived to lend their support, with Jacobs showing a great deal of leg in her split black floral skirt.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is released in the U.S. on June 22.
