Emily Blunt shows off her action girl figure at Harper's Bazaar awards

Emily Blunt shows off her action girl figure and VERY muscular arms at Harper's Bazaar awards after buffing up for new movie

She's been working hard on the shooting range over the past few months to ensure she is ready for her role as a sergeant-major in upcoming action movie A Time To Kill alongside Tom Cruise.
And at the Harper's Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards on Wednesday night, Emily Blunt wore a dress which drew attention to the results of all that training.
The 29-year-old actress displayed her incredibly muscular arms and noticeably slimmer frame in a high-neck orange dress as she attended the event at London's Claridge's Hotel.

Emily wore her hair up in a bun to further highlight her almost gamine appearance as she posed for photographers at the star-studded event.
She teamed the dress with a pair of shiny gold court shoes and a black clutch bag for the occasion.
Emily spoke recently about her role as Rita Vrataski in Doug Liman's futuristic military thriller All You Need Is Kill, which she has been filming at Leavesden studios in Hertfordshire.

She told Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye: 'I play an arse-kicking sergeant-major. She really knows how to lock and load. She’s not very ladylike, but she’s a damn good soldier.'
All You Need Is Kill is based on an illustrated novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka about a soldier fighting aliens who goes through a timewarp loop (like Groundhog Day meets The Terminator), and each day becomes a better fighter.
But while Emily has had to work hard for the new role, it is not the only energetic part she has had to prepare for.
Gun-toting: Emily also had to learn to shoot for her role in her last movie, Looper

In her last movie, Looper, Emily had to train in wood-chopping for a scene which sees her character chopping down a tree.
And she said of the training: 'I had logs delivered to my backyard in Los Angeles, and just learned how to chop wood.
'I chopped wood most days until I looked like I could chop wood convincingly, seeing as this something the character probably does every day. I didn’t want to chop wood like a sissy, you know?'
