Actress Jennifer Gibney is the latest contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing after losing dance-off with Simon Webbe

She'll be feeling blue! Actress Jennifer Gibney is the latest contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing after losing dance-off with Simon Webbe

Mrs Brown's Boys' star Jennifer Gibney foxtrotted off Strictly tonight after losing the elimination dance-off against Blue's Simon Webbe.
The Irish comedy actress bid farewell to the show after she and partner Tristan MacManus failed to wow the panel, joined this week by US singer Donny Osmond as a guest judge, for the second time this weekend.
In a movie-themed round the judges unanimously agreed Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff's rumba to Berlin's Take My Breath Away from Top Gun was better than Gibney and MacManus's foxtrot to Abba's Mamma Mia, from the film of the same name, after the two couples finished bottom of the public vote.

Gibney, who plays husband Brendan O'Carroll's on-screen daughter Cathy in the hit Irish comedy, said: 'Before this, I didn't know how to dance.
'I wanted to learn how to dance and I now know how to jive, how to waltz and how to foxtrot, however badly!
'I've learned three dances and I've had a great time with Tristan. He is one of the family and he will remain one of the family.'

Gibney was made the bookies' favourite for elimination after Saturday night's show, in which Judy Murray and television presenter Tim Wonnacott also struggled to find their feet.
MacManus said his partner had tried her best during her run on the show.
'She made every day that I've known her so far as enjoyable as the next,' he said.
'I hope she's not telling lies now and she will talk to me after tonight! It's been a pleasure to get to know you and your family.'

Osmond, the winner of Dancing With The Stars, the US version of the hit show, was an excitable if slightly unpredictable judge on a weekend of Hollywood-inspired routines.
They included some notable displays, with the most flamboyant being Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who took to the floor as Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid.
His performance was panned by the judges, with Craig Revel Horwood calling him a "lobster on acid".

Strictly continued to dominate the ratings on Saturday night, with almost a million more viewers than rival The X Factor, according to overnight figures.
BBC1's Strictly pulled in an average audience of 8.6 million, while ITV's formerly all-conquering singing contest drew 7.7 million for its live show of the series.
X Factor was down 400,000 from the audience of 8.1 million who tuned in to the equivalent show for the 2013 series, showing Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's return this year is failing to boost ratings.
