Time to shine! Sparkling Eva Longoria and Alicia Vikander lead best dressed stars on glittering red carpet at SAG Awards

Eva Longoria and Alicia Vikander led the glamorous arrivals at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, both picking sequined gowns.
Eva certainly wasn't feeling shy, and showed plenty of skin in her slinky olive green gown, which had daring mesh sections across the stomach and sides.
The 40-year-old's Julien Macdonald dress was also backless and featured a plunging neckline, allowing her to flash her ample cleavage.

Alicia, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl, wore a long-sleeved Louis Vuitton gown which was completely covered in metallic, black and white sequins.
But Eva and Alicia, 27, weren't the only ones picking glitzy looks for the star-studded ceremony.
Helen Mirren once again pulled off a flawless red carpet look, looking far younger than her 70 years in a silver sequined design which highlighted her figure.

Also sporting a sequined gown was Eddie Redmayne's wife Hannah Bagshawe, who is currently expecting the couple's first child together.
The 34-year-old, who is nominated for Best Actor for his role in The Danish Girl, had just jetted into LA after completing filming on Harry Potter prequel movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which is due out in November.
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks covered up her hourglass figure in a shimmering vintage style dress with train, while Gaby Hoffman wore a silver sequined frock with teal pumps.

Other A-list guests were all about showing some cleavage, with Sofia Vergara and Emilia Clarke both causing jaws to drop in their plunging hot pink gowns.
Sarah Hyland showed off her slender frame for the occasion in a slinky strapless indigo gown by J Mendel, which also boasted lace detailing at the waist and a saucy slit up one side.
The 25-year-old - who was joined by boyfriend Dominic Sherwood - also wore black sandals and carried a matching oversized clutch bag, completing her look with sultry smoky eyes.

Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox - whose show is nominated in the same category - meanwhile opted for a Grecian style red gown with a cut-out section on the stomach.
Giuliana Rancic kicked off the red carpet event in an embellished black frock that featured a stylish A-line shape along with a chic blonde bob and black heels.

The 41-year-old is hosting E!'s red carpet coverage along with her Fashion Police co-star Brad Goreski.
The ceremony held in Los Angeles has made room for some of the biggest names in entertainment including Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, and Kate Winslet to name but a few.
Celebs gathered on Saturday night at The Shrine Exposition Center to toast another year in film and television at one of the few awards ceremonies where actors are judged by their peers.

Going in Leonardo DiCaprio was the clear leader in the best actor in a motion picture category, after picking up the Golden Globe in early January.
But Leo has got some stiff competition in the form of Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl), who won the year before for The Theory Of Everything.
And the category only gets thicker and more seasoned following Redmayne with Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), and Johnny Depp (Black Mass) topping off the list.

However, many believe it is Leo's year after his tour de force in The Revenant. And with the Oscars not far off he is expected to finally take home gold after nearly two decades in the business.
This is the ninth SAG nod for the 41-year-old, who did not win in his eight previous runs at the awards show.
Leo earned his first Oscar nomination in 1994 for What's Eating Gilbert Grape when he was just 20 years old.
He was then nominated for Best Actor (The Aviator) in 2004. He later earned a Best Actor nod for Blood Diamond in 2006. And most recently for the Wolf Of Wall Street in 2013.

Meanwhile, a triumvirate of women in comedy appeared at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday night.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler presented the guild's Life Achievement Award to Carol Burnett.
The prize is given annually to an actor who embodies the 'finest ideals of the profession,' including professional and humanitarian achievements.
Burnett has been on the small screen for the better part six decades, and arguably reached her artistic and popularity peaks with the variety series, The Carol Burnett Show (1967-78).

And while the Oscars have been widely criticized for failing to nominate minorities in the majority of their categories, the SAG Awards fared slightly better.
Ensemble nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards highlight diversity in both film and television, including nods for Beasts of No Nation, Straight Outta Compton and Orange is the New Black. Yet, individual nominations, especially for movies, remained largely white - only adding to concerns this will be yet another monochromatic awards season.
Idris Elba was nominated for best supporting actor in the child soldier drama Beasts of No Nation. He is the sole individual minority nominee in the movie categories this year.

Hollywood's lack of diversity has become of critical concern following last Oscars' all-white acting slate. But while the predominantly black casts of both Beasts and Straight Outta Compton were recognized for their ensemble work, alongside Trumbo, Spotlight and The Big Short, individual acting nominations in most film categories exhibited a striking lack of diversity.
Overall, there were more diverse individual nominees in television than film, thanks in part to the fact that TV divides nominees into comedy and drama, which provides more inclusion. In addition to Elba's nod, other TV nominees included Queen Latifah for Bessie, Uzo Aduba for Orange is the New Black and Viola Davis for How to Get Away With Murder.
The SAG nominations also helped bring a murky awards season into a bit better focus. Nominees are selected by separate movie and TV nominating panels, each comprised of more than 2,000 randomly selected SAG members.
