Jaclyn Smith, 69, is 'reduced to tears' when asked about her late Charlie's Angels co-star Farrah Fawcett during cancer charity

Jaclyn Smith, 69, is 'reduced to tears' when asked about her late Charlie's Angels co-star Farrah Fawcett during cancer charity

They worked together on and off for years on the 1970s hit crime caper TV series Charlie's Angels.
So it's been difficult for Jaclyn Smith to let go of her co-star Farrah Fawcett, who died from cancer at the age of 62 in 2009.
On Wednesday the 69-year-old Kmart designer was 'reduced to tears' as she gave a speech at the Farrah Fawcett Foundation Presents First Annual Tex-Mex Fiesta in Los Angeles when she was honored with the Shining Star Award, according to People.

'It's really Farrah's honor,' said the brunette beauty at the event that also included Stand Up To Cancer.
'You know we're here for Farrah … she did this all in perhaps the worst time of her life.'
The Rage Of Angels actress was referring to how Farrah had only established her cancer in 2007. Two years later she died from anal cancer.

'She lived beyond herself and paved the way for research, testing, vaccinations,' added the TV vet.
'We make sure because we were there every step of the way when she was going through all this. She had the foresight to live beyond herself.'
When asked what was her favorite memory of the Texas pinup, Smith said 'so many' and teared up.
In 2014 Jaclyn talked to Oprah about her close bond with Farrah.

'That last six months [of her life] was a very close time for us,' she told Oprah during a Where Are They Now? show.
'To see someone fight a battle like that was beautiful.'
The last time she saw the Logan's Run star they had dinner and talked shoes.
'She wanted some high heels that I had, and I said, "I'll order them for you or you can have mine." [She responded], "No, you keep those and I want new ones." She was just funny. Farrah was funny!'
She also explained she did not go to Farrah's funeral because her own mother Margaret was sick.

'This is sort of hard to talk about. I did get on the plane, but when I landed, I got a call that mom had a drawback and had been put on a respirator. So, I did not get to go to [Farrah's] funeral. But I think in my heart of hearts, I knew Farrah understood,' she said.
Seven weeks after Fawcett's death, Smith lost her mother.
Smith battled breast cancer in 2003. 'I went in for my yearly mammogram, thinking everything was going to be fine. I didn't feel a lump. They saw something suspicious, but said it didn't look like cancer. Then the biopsy results came back and they said, "Well, it's breast cancer,"' she said.
She added, 'I did a lumpectomy with radiation. But let me tell you something, if a mastectomy was what was called for, I would have had it like that. I'm not about my breasts; I'm just about good health, OK.'

There was no denying the mother-of-two's lean and fit physique.
Jaclyn was spotted in a lightweight khaki biker jacket and skinny cropped white trousers which she paired with cool beige tennis shoes.
The beauty accessorized with a pair of large hoop earrings, as her light locks were styled in a voluminous do a la Charlie's Angels style.

In the popular TV series, which ran from 1976 to 1981, it was her co-star Farrah Fawcett who was the token blonde bombshell.
In the show about three sexy female private investigators, Jaclyn's hair colour was a deep brunette instead of honey blonde.
Jaclyn, who is a breast cancer survivor, was one of the first celebrities to launch a design career, introducing her own clothing line at Kmart in 1985.

Jaclyn now has a skincare line available at Kmart and recently tweeted: 'I'm a firm believer in retinol for your skin. It's the gold standard.'
She also sells a wig collection she designed with hairdresser Jose Eber and recently appeared on the daytime talk show The Doctors to talk about the secrets to healthy hair.
The actress wed her fourth husband, Houston Cardiothoracic surgeon Brad Allen, in 1997, and the pair have two children together, Spencer and Gaston.
