It is a true honour to get to meet the Dalai Lama, so a host of celebrities jumped at the chance to attend a Q&A with him on Wednesday. Most of the stars opted for appropriately demure looks for the event, which was hosted by Ann Curry at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.

Lupita Nyong’o looked particularly sensational in a bold printed dress in striking blue and pink hues.

The 12 Years A Slave star coordinated her accessories with a pink clutch bag and cobalt blue shoes that perfectly matched the shaded of her frock.

The 30-year-old, who is hoping to take home a Best Supporting Actress Oscar this weekend, may be new to Hollywood but she has quickly become known as one of the best dressed stars around.

Eva Longoria followed Lupita’s suit and picked an elegant cream dress by Philosophy Di Natalie Ratabesi.

The frock consisted of a simple top with a pretty pleated skirt, and the former Desperate Housewives star teamed it with matching court shoes.

Eva opted to forgo any other accessories and swept her fringed brunette locks into a ponytail to complete her look.

The 38-year-old shared a photo of herself meeting the Dalai Lama on her WhoSay page, in which His Holiness has his hands on her cheeks while she places her own hands on top of his.

One person who apparently didn’t get the memo to wear something modest was Joanna Krupa.

The Real Housewives Of Miami star is more often than not spotted in a bikini so perhaps it’s no surprise that she couldn’t resist showing some skin.

Joanna, 34, picked a dusty pink gown which was Grecian inspired and while it fell to the floor, it also boasted a plunging neckline.

The Polish model had spent a long time planning her outfit for the discussion, and tweeted over the weekend: ‘Over the moon excited I get to meet the Dalai Lama next week w my pal @SeanLourdes !!!!!! What do I wear?! Lol.’

Joanna then documented the event via her Twitter and Instagram pages, sharing a snap of herself en route to the venue and posting a picture of the stage during the Q&A.

‘Wish everyone had the same views as the Dalai Lama. Our world would b filled w kindness and compassion not hate and jealousy,’ Joanna thoughtfully wrote.

Nikki Reed wore a cream satin shift dress with black collar and trim, and Malin Akerman sported a black blouse tucked into a matching leather skirt.

Also in attendance was Matt Goss, who looked extremely dapper in a grey plaid suit, matching skinny tie and white shirt.

His new movie Silver Linings Playbook looks set to rake in the trophies when awards season rolls around.

And one person who couldn't be prouder of Bradley Cooper is his girlfriend Zoe Saldana, who was on his arm at a party to celebrate the film on Friday.

The handsome actor turned heads in a classic grey suit, white shirt and tie at the star-studded special event hosted by Lexus and Purity Vodka at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile slender Zoe looked magnificent in a brown polka dot slip dress with spaghetti straps along with sleek black heels.

The 34-year-old Avatar star wore her hair in a luxuriant knot and accessorised her outfit with large hoop earrings.

It's no surprise that Bradley was beaming from ear to ear at the prospect of having the beauty at his side for most of the evening.

The 37-year-old Philadelphia-born actor is riding high at the moment.

His critically acclaimed film - about the quirky relationship between a former mental patient and a mysterious girl - garnered the most Spirit Award nominations for the 2013 ceremony with five nods including best lead actor and best picture.

Bradley rubbed elbows with a host of other celebrities including Josh Brolin and Diane Lane, who looked lovey dovey in casual jeans and leather jackets.

Its Mrs Brady! Florence Henderson of TV's classic Brady Bunch was flanked by the film's Chris Tucker and director Russell, and seemed to be enjoying herself very well

Julia Stiles, who also stars in the movie, stood out wearing a orange, brown, black and green number that tested one's sense of direction and clutching a simple black handbag.

Naomi Watts was a vision in her sage green Stella McCartney dress which she paired well with neutral Valentino shoes and a Maiyet clutch, according to Just Jared.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez, who has been spotted in Los Angeles shooting her latest action flick The Fast and the Furious 6, was comfortably chic in skinny black trousers, high black boots, red top and brown leather jacket, with a ivory wrap casually tossed around her shoulders.

Two legends: Actor Robert De Niro, who has a role in Silver Linings Playbook, chatted with screenwriter Nancy Meyers, who penned Something's Gotta Give and It's Complicated among other greats

Other party guests included Jim Carrey, Jane Fonda and Minnie Driver, as well as veteran actor Robert De Niro, who also stars in the movie.

Even Florence 'Brady Bunch' Henderson stepped out for the evening's festivity, happy to mingle with the film's Chris Tucker and director David O. Russell.

'I welcome to surprise my film audiences with a performance they don't see coming, and then turn out an actor's skill in new ways,' Russell said, adding that the film 'is emotional. It dares to be romantic, but is still funny.'

On Saturday, the whirlwind continued with Bradley and Russell pushing on to scenic Santa Barbara to support De Niro who picked up the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

This time, Bradley, looking a wee bit tired around the eyes, perhaps from the previous night's festivities, wore a cool blue suit, white shirt and no tie, preferring the casual open neck look.
