The X Factor is gearing up for it's ninth live final, but whilst the production team and contestants get busy with last minute preparations, Dermot O'Leary and Nicole Scherzinger took a break to visit one of Manchester's most famous pubs.
Visiting the set of Coronation Street, the two got behind the bar of the Rovers Return and pulled themselves a pint.
With beaming grins on their face, Dermot and Nicole were definitely a far cry from the normal punters gracing the traditional pub.

However, the pair looked a little at odds with each other when it came to their attire.
Dermot looked ready for a ball in a black and white tuxedo, whilst Nicole was more casual yet festive in a Christmas jumper.
Tweeting about their impromptu visit, Nicole made a joke along with a snap of her and the X Factor presenter: 'Oh just another day at the office...'

For Dermot though, he got a bit more of a treat from a flank of Manchester City and United fans creating an escort around him as he left the set.
And not making time to get changed, the newly married presenter headed over to The X Factor set to watch the contestants rehearse ahead of the weekend's shows.
Just like last year, the final acts will perform a duet with their mentor which means Nicole will be singing twice whilst Gary will be crooning the one time with Christopher Maloney.

Christopher, Jahmene Douglas and james Arthur have been asked by producers to keep their heads down whilst they stay in the northern city with concerns over the amount of fans ready to mob them if they head out in public.
But according to the Daily Mirror, the fans were more fixated on Nicole's contestant with rumours that the show's producers faked scenes to make it look like Christopher had more support than believed.

Whilst the final three continue with their preparation, the fallen acts from the last 10 weeks returned to the show to get ready for their group performance.
Rylan Clarke, Ella Henderson and Kye Sones reacquainted themselves with each other over a coffee outside The X Factor studios.
And Melanie Masson looked cheery and ready to perform again with her fellow contestants.

As a former member of the Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger was never afraid to put her best assets on display.
And stepping back in time, Nicole showed off and out as she stripped down to celebrate her X Factor contestant Rylan Clark's 24th birthday on Wednesday evening.

The 34-year-old left little to imagination as she partied at Mahiki nightclub in a cleavage baring outfit.
Nicole bared all in a red PVC corset which had black frilled trimmings with a pair of tiny shorts.
Fishnet tights, elbow length gloves and jewel embellished stilettos completed her daring look.
Allowing her dark locks to flow down her shoulders in loose curls, Scherzinger was joined in the racy costume department by fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

The Young singer was seen pretending to bite Nicole as they messed around on the dance floor while Scherzinger tried not to pop out of her top.
Looking forward to the evening ahead Tulisa tweeted: 'On my way2 @RylanClark's birthday party+celebrating the release of sight of you video.fancy dress!'
Doing little to cover up, she finished her look with a pair of tights and black open toe heels.

Rylan himself of course took the opportunity to show off his former modelling skills, as he strutted to the London hotspot dressed as American football player.
Showing off his fake tanned stomach, the birthday boy spruced up the outfit with some blood make-up.
He was joined by his partner in crime Lucy Spraggan, who dressed up as a pumpkin.

James Arthur and Kaye Sones also helped the lad celebrate his birthday, dressed in black costumes that seemed to resemble a bin bag more than a scary character.
The X Factor hopefuls were spotted drinking and dancing at the nightclub, also favoured by Prince Harry, until the early hours of the morning.

MK1 became the latest stars to be voted off The X Factor on Sunday night.
After the duo's dramatic sing-off with Kye Sones, judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh were given the task of choosing which act should go home.
But when a decision couldn't be reached by the judges, the vote was taken to deadlock - with MK1, aka Charlie and Sim, receiving the least amount of votes from the public.

Devastated: Despite the fact that Louis Walsh was MK1's mentor, it was Tulisa who looked the most devastated as the vote was announced
Following the decision, Louis said that he was hoping the duo would still get a record deal, saying: 'We're genuinely good friends and I want them to get a record deal - somebody out there, sign them.'
Asked how they had enjoyed the experience, Charlie said: 'We have had the best time and thank you to everyone who voted for us.'
And Sim added: 'What we have achieved is amazing and we'll go forward coming out of this.'

It's not the end: Despite looking upset at being voted off, Charlie and Sim told Dermot that they have no intention of giving up, and will continue to make music together
The first judge to vote prior to deadlock was MK1's mentor Louis, who voted to send home Kye, saying: 'I am mentor for MK1 - I absolutely love Charlie and Sim and the act I am sending home is Kye.'
Gary was next to vote, telling his act Kye: 'That was one of the best sing offs I have ever seen on this show. You are the reason I wanted this category and I'm so sorry you're here. I'm sending home MK1 tonight.'
Nicole said: 'This is really hard for me. I am such big fans of MK1 - I love how fresh and current you are but I have to go off of the save me performance I just saw so the act I am sending home is MK1.'

And a visibly emotional Tulisa was last to comment, saying: 'MK1 from the second I saw you guys, you remind me of N-Dubz, you touch a soft spot for me.
'Kye that was an amazing performance, but MK1 you got up and sang a song that N-Dubz do on tour and that was the final straw for me. If I don't stick up for my urban N-Dubz roots here, I'd be lying to myself. So the act I'm sending home is Kye.'
Tulisa's decision meant that the vote was then taken to deadlock, with Dermot announcing MK1 would be going home.

But the N-Dubz singer appeared distraught that the duo were being sent home, putting her head in her hands as the vote was announced.
Host Dermot O'Leary looked dapper in a double-breasted grey suit as he kicked off the show, although with a less energetic entrance than on Saturday night's programme.
Judges Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Tulisa and Louis Walsh then made their way onto the show,.
Nicole opted for a revealing black mesh dress, with bizarre structured hip panels, while Tulisa wore a pretty, shiny strapless black dress.

The finalists then made their way onto the stage, with Ella Henderson kicking off the performance of Ain't Nobody.
The backstage reactions from the Saturday night show showed Christiopher Maloney speaking after he was dubbed 'cheesier than Stilton' by Tulisa.
He said: 'If she doesn't get it then fair enough, but the public do get it and that's all that matters to me.'
MK1, who were told they shouldn't have done a mash-up of two songs, repeated Nicole's neqwly-coined phrase of 'Sch-mazing', while Gary said after Jahmene Douglas' performance: 'It's ike a vocal masterclass every week off of him - sensational.'

After James Arthur was labelled as having the performance of the series, James thanked Gary, while Gary then tipped Union J for big things.
The boyband said as they came off the stage: 'Gary is king of the boybands so high five for that!'
Following the performance from the always-controversial Rylan Clark, Louis said: 'He's a great entertainer and he puts a smile on everyone's faces, which is something Gary should learn to do.'
After Lucy Spraggan's performance of David Guetta's Titanium, complete with her own self-written choruses, her mentor Tulisa said: 'I just want her to translate to a commercial audience and that happened tonight, she's amazing.'

Kye Sones was left stunned after the judges compared him to Coldplay's Chris Martin, saying: 'I can't believe they said the Chris Martin thing, he's one of my biggest idols so I'm over the moon about that.'
Following District 3's performance, Tulisa said the competition was on between them and Union J, adding: 'It's a real battle of the boybands now.'
One of the most controversial comments of Saturday night's show came from Gary Barlow, when he said Ella Henderson's dance moves were too cheesy.

But coming off stage after the performance, Ella said 'I didn't want to be the one trick pony that stood there and did ballads all week, so that's why I did that.'
The first guest performance of the evening came from Labrinth, who performed his collaboration with Emeli Sande for the first time on the show.
A far cry from his hit song Earthquake, Labrinth began the song in front of a baby grand piano, before Emeli then emerged in a stunning black and white dress to join him in the ballad.

Prior to the performance, Labrinth tweeted a picture of himself behind the judges' table, adding: 'X-Factor judge maybe?'
As Dermot spoke to the judges before JLS took to the stage, he brought up the fact that Gary's Take That bandmate Robbie Williams had backed Gary's most hated contestant, Rylan Clark, in a tweet on Saturday night.
Referring to the tweet, Gary said: 'It was going so well between the two of us but it's all over because of one tweet. In five letters it's all over!'
Dermot then asked each judge to tip one contestant for the exit on Sunday night's show.
Nicole picked Christopher Maloney, while Gary and Louis both thought Jade Ellis was in trouble, despite her illness.

However, Tulisa refused to pick any name, insisting: 'I'm not saying, it's too unpredictable. I'd be making it up so I'm not going to say anything.'
The next guest performance came from JLS, who found fame through the show back in 2010 and are now one of the most successful X Factor products in history.
The band, who looked dapper in their monochrome outfits, performed their Justin Timberlake-esque track The Hottest Girl In The World, flanked by stunning dancers in sexy secretary-style ensembles.
Speaking to Dermot after the performance, Aston said James Arthur was his favourite contestant, with his bandmates agreeing.

It was then time for the public vote to be announced.
First safely through was Union J, followed by Ella Henderson, James Arthur and Rylan Clark - much to the disapproval of Gary and some of the audience, who booed as his name was announced.
Next to go through was Christopher Maloney, who was also booed by the audience, quickly followed by Jahmene Douglas, District 3 and Lucy Spraggan.
The final act to be put through was Jade Ellis, who promptly burst into tears upon finding out that she was safe.

The decision to put the acts through meant that Kye Sones would take on MK1 in the sing-off.
First to perform was MK1, who sang The Script's The Man Who Can't Be Moved.
They were followed by Kye, who sang Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me. He was introduced by mentor Gary, who has already lost two acts, who said prior to the performance: 'I'm not sure what' going to happen here. Kye has had flu all week, he got through last night but he didn't have a voice this morning.'
