Elle Fanning, 17, sparkles as grunge princess for Vogue Australia as she reflects on leaving her childhood behind

'I want to be a girl forever!' Elle Fanning, 17, sparkles as grunge princess for Vogue Australia as she reflects on leaving her childhood behind

She starred as the princess Aurora in Disney's 2014 film Maleficent.
And as she graces the cover and pages of Vogue Australia's March issue, Elle Fanning has revisited a look that really seems to suit her.
Dressed in feminine lace juxtaposed with clunky wooden-heeled boots, the 17-year-old sparkles as a grunge princess as a subtle nod to the decade in which she was born.

The younger sister of fellow actress Dakota, the blonde beauty responds to the notion that as her 18th birthday approaches, she will put her child years behind her.
'Everyone's saying I'm adult now... [but] I'm not grown up, I want to be a girl forever!' she says. On the cover, Elle looks angelic in a voluminous Chanel gown with layered ruffles and tiny diamantés.

Her neck is adorned with Chanel pearls and she poses with her right hand tucked under her chin as black lace gloves cling to her hands and forearm.
Looking over her shoulder in one photo, the striking teenager dons Balenciaga lace and black lace gloves, with the look given a raw edge with the addition of a Saint Laurent studded choker.
In another shot, she lounges back onto an antique sofa in a black Céline dress and baby pink satin gloves, prettiness that is once more offset by a dark smoky eye and the same choker.
She's excited about her impending 18th birthday, April 9, and looks forward to spending it with her closest friends in Los Angeles and then with her sister in New York.

'We're so close, I look up to her so much,' she says.
She's exhibited a range that would challenge that of actresses twice her age.
This year, she stars as a teenage girl transitioning to a boy in About Ray, as a punk-rocker in 20th Century Woman and a model 'who gets devoured by the fashion industry' in the horror flick The Neon Demon.
With maturity beyond her years and despite her teen contemporaries, she chooses not to have a public Instagram account and cites a Hollywood legend as inspiration for her mysteriousness.
'Can you imagine Marilyn [Monroe] on Instagram? Would she still be this figure if we knew all this information about her? Who knows.'

She never goes out of style! Taylor Swift reveals a hint of her pink bra in sheer blue gown on the cover of Vogue Australia

She's already covered Vogue three times before.
And now Taylor Swift has a fourth cover under her belt as she fronts the November issue of the Australian edition of the fashion bible.
The 25-year-old flashes a hint of flesh without going overboard on the sexy and sophisticated cover.

The Style songstress sports a a sheer blue Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress for the shoot.

Her blonde hair is darker than usual, with a choppy '80s cut that flicks out to the side.
In the accompanying interview with the mag, the squad leader reveals she counts her blessings daily, saying: 'The public could change their minds about me tomorrow.'

'Things are good right now but I’m never going to be stupid, foolish or ignorant enough to think I have control over the public.
'All I can control is making good music,' she mused in the issue out next Monday.
The Grammy Award-winner has legions of impassioned fans - affectionately known as 'Swifties' - and the most insane, celebrity-and-supermodel-laden friendship group imaginable.

Of course, she had to start somewhere, but the problem is that the talented Bad Blood singer makes it look so incredibly easy.
Bursting onto the scene in 2006 as a country music artist, the American songwriter's evolution through the infamously volatile music industry is nothing short of remarkable.
Her third single, Our song, from her debut self-titled album made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a Number One song on the Hot Country Songs chart.

But since shooting into the pop music spotlight with her second album Fearless, in 2008, the songwriter is still refreshingly down-to-earth about how quickly it could all disappear.
'I am so lucky that people seem to like me right now but in no way, shape or form, is that a permanent thing,' she said.
'I think being aware of that is what keeps you on the game.'

'Then I'll feel like I'll need to give people a breather,' the twice-awarded Billboard Woman of the Year joked.
Accompanying her on the monstrous tour is Melbourne-born pop/folk heartthrob, James Keogh, aka Vance Joy, who this year has been nominated for seven Australian Record Industry Association - ARIA - awards.
