Going dotty! Katy Perry closes the Capital FM Summertime Ball in a Fifties style polka dot outfit and black fringed wig

She was given the honour of closing the show at the show at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball and Katy Perry ended the night in style.
After performances from stars including Cheryl Cole, Coldplay and Justin Bieber there was pressure on the final act to impress and Katy rose to the occasion beautifully.
Taking to the stage in a retro polka-dot outfit, highlights included Part of Me and an acoustic version of The One That Got Away.

Katy sported a black bobbed wig with fringe for the occasion and matched her unusual outfit with flat shoes, no doubt so she could keep up with the dance moves.
A group of flamboyantly dressed backing dancers with brightly coloured wigs helped the performance go with a bang.
Meanwhile, the fun loving popstar was planning to celebrate her performance with an aftershow date night with Florence + The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.

The couple first met at California’s Coachella festival in April and enjoyed a brief romance before splitting last month.
However, they rekindled their romance when Katy recently jetted in to London and have been spotted on a number of dates in the English capital, including dinner dates in East London.
Yet after her performance at the Summertime Ball, the kooky songstress had a different type of date in mind and booked a bowling alley down the road from Wembley so they could enjoy a laid back evening.

A source told The Sun ‘Katy has always loved taking her dates for activities like bowling and skating.’
While things are going well in her personal life, Katy’s professional life is also thriving and it has emerged a move into feature films could be on the cards.
The 27-year-old popstar has been linked to the role of Freddie Mercury's girlfriend Mary Austin alongside Dictator star Sacha Baron Cohen in a new movie about the Queen singer’s life.
A friend of Katy told the Mirror: ‘Katy would love to be in the film as she is such a huge fan. She would want to play Mary Austin ideally. Katy has a similar look to Mary and would be a brilliant foil to Sacha.’
