BBC bosses want Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis for the new series of Strictly – and the athlete says she welcomes the challenge.

Jess, who would be following in the footsteps of fellow London 2012 star Louis Smith who won last year’s show, said: “I’m a big fan of Strictly and I thought Louis did amazingly well.
“I’d love to do it but think when it came to dancing live on TV I’d be terrified and probably rubbish.
“I like to believe I’ve got some sort of rhythm but I think learning a completely new set of skills and doing the dances would be incredibly difficult and a real challenge but it would be one I’d enjoy.”
Jess – who married fiancé Andy Hill last month – won the hearts of the nation last summer when she took gold in the heptathlon during Team GB’s Super Saturday.
Jess says she’s unlikely to be following fellow British heptathlon champion Denise Lewis into broadcasting when she retires.
She said: “I don’t really have any solid plans at the moment other than preparing for the world championships later this year then defending
