Armed and dangerous! Gun-toting Selena Gomez tries to steal car as she continues bad girl streak in first trailer for Getaway

She shed her Disney princess image once and for all with a role in the gritty R-rated Spring Breakers, released earlier this year.
And it seems that Selena Gomez is enjoying her turn as a bad girl.
The multi-talented 20-year-old can be seen as a gun-toting hacker in the newly released first trailer for Getaway.

The film follows Ethan Hawke as washed up race car driver Brent Magna, who is roped into helping out the mysterious man behind a chilling voice (Paul Freeman) when his wife is kidnapped.
Selena stars as a character known only as The Kid, who inadvertently becomes Brent’s sidekick when she attempts to steal his vehicle.
Dressed in a grey hoodie over a black baseball cap and jeans, the brunette beauty is seen ordering Brent to ‘get out of the car’ while pointing a gun at him after opening the passenger door.

Action-packed: Selena performs a tuck and roll in one scene from the film as she inadvertently becomes Brent's sidekick
Emotional: The Kid tells Brent 'I'm not dying for you' as she gets involved when his wife is kidnapped
Brent is commanded by the man of mystery to drive off with The Kid in the car, and after he refuses to kill her as instructed, The Man says: ‘Good. You will need her help if you want your wife back.’
The Kid and Brent are involved in several car chases and fight sequences and at one point Selena is seen performing a tuck and roll out of the vehicle.
In one emotional scene, a tearful Selena tells her co-star: ‘I'm not dying for you.’
Bad girl: Selena is continuing to play grittier roles and plays a hacker in the upcoming movie
Partners in crime: Brent and The Kid begin working together after he ignores an order from a mysterious man to kill her
Wrong place, wrong time: The Kid attempts to steal Brent's car and he is forced to pull her in and drive off
The Kid also attempts to talk some sense into her new partner in crime, after describing his wife (Rebecca Budig) as ‘beautiful’.
‘What happens when this is done?’ she says. ‘Why would he even give her back to you?’
Throughout the trailer Freeman, or rather his voice, provides an unsettling current.

‘I know who you are,’ he says. ‘You have a beautiful wife and an ability few others have. Now I have you. I'm watching you. Always. You will await further instructions.’
He is later heard saying: ‘Do exactly as I say and your wife lives. But if you lose or get caught the game's over, she dies. The clock is ticking.’
Selena is currently attempting to balance the many facets of her career and is also promoting her upcoming album Stars Dance ahead of its July 23 release.

Getaway, which also stars Jon Voight, is scheduled for release in the UK on October 4.
