Hailee Steinfeld: 'Fashion is a huge part of my life.' Romeo and Juliet star turns cover girl for ASOS

At just 16 years of age, True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld already has an Oscar nomination and a Miu Miu campaign under her belt.
Now the brunette actress is gracing the cover of ASOS magazine and opening up about her love of fashion and her new co-star Douglas Booth.
Appearing on the cover in a contrast colour block coat, Criminal Damage crop top, leopard jacquard skinny trousers and Chelsea ankle boots Haliee balances on a swing in an Autumnal wood.

Haliee seemed relaxed and playful on the shoot, posing with a golden retriever, as she opened up about acting and fashion
Haliee says that although she has always been interested in clothes, her new found fame has given her a new insight.
Speaking to ASOS she says: ‘Fashion is something I’ve always been interested in. I used to watch the Oscars but paid no attention to the awards.
‘It wasn’t until I started attending red carpet events and was flown out to Paris for my first show, and saw how much is put into it all, that I had this new appreciation for everything. Now it’s become a huge part of my life.’

The shoot sees Haliee looking relaxed as she plays and poses in a wood with a golden Labrador, looking very much like a carefree teenager.
However, Haliee’s success at such a young age has propelled her into controversial situations, most notably when she was cast, aged just 14, as Juliet in Julian Fellowes’ adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, which included a nude sex scene in the script.

The film, which is set to hit cinemas in October, had to have the scene altered to make it appropriate for Haliee’s young age.
Haliee says of people’s belief in her: ‘It’s the most flattering thing because people have only seen me in one film.

'I remember getting the calls for Romeo and Juliet and Ender’s Game, and you always wonder what makes people think of you for those roles...I have moments where I’m like, ‘Why me?’ This is unreal!’’
And she is clearly a fan of her Romeo & Juliet co-star Douglas Booth, 21, gushing: ‘He is so, so great...I can’t think about him without laughing. I love him so much – he’s so funny...I couldn’t have asked for a better person to experience this with.’
Criminally good-looking, Booth sent pulses races when he appeared in the BBC’s Worried about a boy, and Greta Expectations and appears alongside Emma Watson in Burberry adverts.
