And Kendall Jenner showed exactly why in new Instagram pictures.
The 17-year-old reality TV star uploaded two very different pictures to the photo-sharing website, highlighting her versatility.
The first photograph shows off Kendall’s toned figure as she poses on a bike with her hands obscuring her face.
Wearing denim shorts, a cropped grey vest and converse, Kendall’s hair is pulled back into a ponytail as she turns her head up to the sky.
The second is a simple black and white headshot where Kendall’s flawless skin is highlighted by her minimal make-up.
The teenage beauty’s long hair is loose around her shoulders for the natural picture.
It’s likely these are old pictures as Kendall – who Star magazine reports dumped her high school sweetheart Julian Brooks recently - debuted a new lighter hair colour on her Instagram on Sunday.
The teenager's hair is usually a natural dark brown like the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
But in the new image, it appears the top half of her hair down to her shoulders is lighter, followed by her usual brunette in what one could call a reverse ombre effect.
Although Kendall is a star, she admitted in the April issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine that sometimes she doesn't want to be famous.
'The show [Keeping Up With The Kardashians] brought us everything we have, and I realise that, but sometimes I just want to be left alone and be a normal kid for like five minutes.
That's tough when the paparazzi are chasing you.'
She and sister Kylie were recently paid $100,000 each after launching their own nail polish line, Kardashian Kolors with the popular beauty brand, Nicole by OPI.
