January Jones certainly lived up to her Mad Men character's name as she attended a party to celebrate the AMC show.

The actress wore a black and white, zig-zag cocktail dress which definitely could make a few onlookers eyes go funny if they stared at it too long.

With accents of blue thrown into the design, January had left her character's sixties style behind.

But the aforementioned shade also brought out the colour of her eyes, enhance with some blue eyeliner and glowing cheeks.

The actress also swept her short blonde bob into a side parting which gave her style add volume and va va voom.

She left her two-year old son Xander at home to enjoy the evening with her castmates ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (22nd).

Biker girl: Jones threw on a black leather jacket after the bash as she headed home

No. 5: The actress showed off her numerical tattoo which stood out in red on her left ankle

But at the night of the night as she made her way back to her car, January threw on an edgy biker jacket to keep her warm in the cooler autumn air.

And as she walked down towards the waiting SUV, the actress's ankle tattoo was clearly visible on the back of her leg.

The red inking was of the number five, which she first revealed back in 2012 at the Art of Elysium 5th Annual Gala event.

John Hamm was in attendance with his wife, the actress and director Jessica Westfeldt, however he wasn't as clean and shaven as his Mad Men alter-ego.

The actor, who plays Don Draper on the hit show, had a full beard, speckled with grey, which gave him a rugged, yet distinguished edge.

Inspired by the show they star in, Jessica Paré and Abigail Spencer wore vintage-looking strapless gowns in black tulle and floral crepe.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Times reported that the finale will be broken up into two parts. The first half of the season, titled, The Beginning, will air in spring 2014. The second, The End Of An Era, will air in spring 2015.

'This approach has worked well for many programs across multiple networks, and, most recently for us with 'Breaking Bad,' which attracted nearly double the number of viewers to it's second-half premiere than had watched any previous episode,' said AMC President Charlie Collier.

The Golden Globe winner flaunted her famous hour-glass figure in a spotted pencil dress, which she accessorised with gladiator heels.

They attended the Critics' Choice TV Awards to celebrate their roles on the small screen.

But that didn't stop Emmy Rossum and Diane Kruger opting for old Hollywood glamour on the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The actresses looked like bona fide movie stars rather than television stars, as they stole the limelight on Monday.

TV's choice: Emmy's dazzling floor-length red gown certainly turned heads amongst the crowd

While other stars from the small screen opted for either bright colors or a classic LBD, Diane and Emmy were arguably a cut above the rest on the night. 

Emmy's stunning red gown was by designer Carolina Herrera, and certainly stood out.

Also in attendance were stars from Mad Men, Parks and Recreation, The Big Bang Theory.

Diane, 36, is now famous for playing the tough detective Sonya North on the television drama The Bridge.

However the actress made it on the big screen starring alongside Brad Pitt in Troy, and in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

And her attention-grabbing corseted black outfit certainly made an impact on the night.

While Emmy, 26, hit the big time in 2004 landing the role of Christine in The Plantom of the Opera, as well as starring in blockbusters The Day After Tomorrow and Poseidon.

Now however, she has been keeping busy playing the role of Fiona Gallagher on the US adaptation the the British series Shameless.

Also in attendance was the star of the hit series Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston.

And the star couldn't have seemed further away from his character Walter White as he danced on the red carpet with Extra host Maria Menounos.

Movie actress Malin Akerman looking stunning in a sparkly little black dress, and presented at the event.

Malin, 35, only gave birth in April but has managed to snap back into shape and looked positively radiant as she posed on the red carpet. 

The Watchmen actress began her career on the small screen starring opposite Lisa Kudrow in the cult comedy series The Comeback.

Malin has her own television show to promote, Suburgatory, which she is also a producer of. 

Former Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 52, opted for a figure-hugging black number too and looked incredible.

Julia now stars in the HBO series Veep, which was created by Armando Iannucci the man behind The Thick Of It and the movie In The Loop.

Playing Vice President Selina Meyer, Julia's performance earned her a Best Actress nomination at the event.

Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss, who was nominated for Best Actress, stood out in a bright fuchsia dress at the ceremony.

The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco wore a gorgeous white strapless cocktail dress with satin bow and black embellished bodice from Paule Ka and later celebrated for winning the Best Supporting Actress award.

Interestingly, Kaley was pictured with her co-star Johnny Galeckie, who she recently admitted dating for two years.

But also following the trend of Hollywood glamor was 30-year-old actress Lizzy Caplan who wore a pretty peach gown.

Lizzy rose to fame in the teen comedy Mean Girls but has enjoyed success on television shows such as True Blood and Party Down.

She will be next seen alongside Michael Sheen in the new TV show Masters of Sex. 

The TV show focuses on the pioneers of the science of human sexuality whose research touched off the sexual revolution. 

It is based on Thomas Maier's biography Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson and is set to premiere on Showtime on September 29.
