Flawless Sandra Bullock stars on new Vogue cover at 49 in daring backless gown as she reveals she would 'quit' acting for son Louis

Sandra Bullock has scored her fifth cover of U.S. Vogue, appearing on the magazine's October issue.
The 49-year-old, who made her first appearance on the magazine in 1998, looks radiant in a Marc Jacobs backless sequin dress as she discusses her life in Austin, Texas with her adopted son, Louis, and the making of her new film, Gravity.
Stressing that three-year-old Louis is her number one priority, she revealed to the magazine: 'I don’t want him to have pressures brought on by what I do. I will quit. I will leave. If I see whatever I’m doing affecting him negatively, I will pack up and move to Alaska.'

'I think this business can take the child out of kids so quickly,' she added.
Ms Bullock shows off her recently cropped hair 'do on Vogue's fall cover, which was chopped into a shaggy bob for her new film Gravity, opening in theatres October 4th.
Some fans have called the hairstyle 'confusing.'  One The Fashion Spot commenter compared it to a mullet; while another reader said the style makes the mother-of-one look like a 'soccer mom'.
However others have simply praised Vogue for featuring an 'older' star. One Huffington post commenter said: 'She is truly a beautiful woman in every sense of the word'. Another agreed, adding: 'She's never looked better...beautiful woman.'

The actress, who scored an Academy Award in 2010 for The Blind Side, is already garnering Oscar buzz for her role as astronaut Dr. Ryan Stone, who becomes stranded in space following a catastrophic event.
Gravity, a visual effects-heavy, 3D film which also stars George Clooney, required Ms Bullock to be suspended from 12 wires to simulate astronauts floating through the weightless environment.
The actress underwent a grueling physical-training regimen for the character, who in the film has undergone a personal tragedy. Ms Bullock wanted her to look like 'a shell of a woman,' she told Vogue, and to 'strip almost everything that possibly made her a woman.'
Ms Bullock, who moved to Austin, Texas from New York to escape paparazzi and feel 'safe' enlisted two Australian dancers to serve as her trainers. 'They created a way of working out that I could tolerate,' she said. 'I don’t want to feel like I’m in a gym.'

When she's not filming, the actress lives a quiet life with her two-legged dog named Ruby, a three-legged dog named Poppy and her son, Louis.
For now, Ms Bullock is happy with her side projects, Walton’s Fancy and Staple, a local flower business she bought in 2009, and Bess, the law office turned bistro she opened in 2006 down the street.
'Acting isn’t mine. You’re like a tiny piece in this big, corporate mechanism that needs chemistry and divine intervention,' she said, before adding, referring to the stores: 'This is mine.'
While she remained quiet on the subject of Jesse James, Ms Bullock's reality-TV star ex-husband who was enmeshed in an extramarital affair after her 2010 Oscar win, she said she is 'just sort of seeing where life goes.'

'I am exactly where I want to be now. You can’t go backward. I’m not going backward. I’m grateful that I’m here, blessed to have what I have,' she said. 'Nobody can be prepared for anything. If you end up in a place where you can look back and go, "It happened, but I’m so lucky to be sitting where I am sitting."'
As for children, she said she is open to the idea of growing her family.
'If all of a sudden someone said, "You have five more kids," I’d be totally OK with it. I’m having such an amazing time. Whatever comes our way, we handle as a family. It’s not just me anymore.'
