Where's the pink, Penelope? First action-packed trailer for Thunderbirds Are Go! arrives but Rosamund Pike's Lady gets a modern makeover
Lady Penelope was known as much for her pink suit as she was for her matching car, but in the new series Thunderbirds Are Go! she's been given a thoroughly modern makeover.
Now she looks more like Rosamund Pike, who voices the character, wearing a stylish black jacket over a yellow dress and wearing black gladiator sandals.
Luckily her car, FAB 1, has stuck to the same pink design as in the original puppet series, and in the first trailer it can be seen taking flight to join the Tracy Brothers on their missions to help those in international peril.

That's a new look: Lady Penelope and Parker are given a thoroughly modern makeover for Thunderbirds Are Go!
Think pink: The Lady was more known for her bubblegum colours in the original series
Parker also looks dramatically different. Gone is the drivers uniform in favour of a rather European ensemble of a black suit and green roll-neck jumper.
The trailer opens with a satellite and a number of SOS calls for International Rescue.
Thunderbirds are go,' says one of the team as the Tracy brothers Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon, John as well as Head Of Security Tanusha 'Kayo' Kyrano, who used to be known as Tin-Tin.
Midair fights, robot attacks, underwater searches and a lot of travelling by the famous Thunderbird planes.
Thunderbirds was a much loved television series in the 1960s which went onto produce three feature length films, a radio adaption and even a stage production.
With so much more to still give, show producers decided to give it a a brand new look for the new ITV programme Thunderbirds Are Go.
New addition: Gone is Tin-Tin in favour of Kayo (far right) who is in charge of Covert Ops at International Rescue. She joins the Tracy brothers (left to right - Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John)
How they were: The original series was made up of puppets whereas the remake relies heavily on CGI
But the first look of the futuristic five didn't go down well with fans of the show who took to Twitter to blast the CGI enhanced figurines and their new boyband-esque appearance.
Setting the Twittersphere alight, social media users were quick to post their thoughts, mostly disapproval, on the former puppets.
One fan tweeted: 'Thunderbirds are back – with boy band haircuts and tighter trousers'.
CGI: The new series no longer features puppets which allows more scope for fast action sequences
Action girl: Kayo heads of the security team and definitely pulls her weight on missions
Underwater capers: Deep sea action will keep International Rescue busy
While another quipped: 'So the new #thunderbirds look like a boyband from the 'X Factor' groups category....who get voted out in week 2.'
The most noticeable difference with the brothers comes in the form of their new outfits, ditching their trademark hats, the men now have metro-sexual haircuts with the help of styling wax.
Their pilots' suits have also been swamped for lyrca while their sashes have been given a massive gadget upgrade.
Brains: The science man has been given a hipster makeover for the new series
Nemesis: Looks like The Hood will still be up to his old tricks too
For the most part comments on the characters' new appearance were pretty lighthearted but one distraught fan wrote: 'First they ruin Bob the Builder and now they ruin Thunderbirds. Why must you keep ruining my childhood'.
ITV have promised that the new show will 'deliver a new level of action-adventure animation whilst also paying tribute to the classic 1960’s phenomenon.'
For the series, which has been produced using a unique mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets, Original cast member David Graham will reprise his role as Parker as well as the original voice artist of Lady Penelope, Sylvia Anderson, in a guest role as Great Aunt Sylvia.
This episode of Thunderbirds Are Go was written by David Baddiel,
The show which will debut exclusively on ITV and CITV later this year will also star Kayvan Novak as inventor Brains and Game of Thrones actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster as John Tracy.
