Her family catapulted her into reality TV stardom aged nine and she knows little else.

And now - like many other teens - Kylie Jenner aims to carve out her own identity.

‘My family always jokes that I’m always off doing my own thing and they never know where I am,’ the 17-year-old revealed in an interview with Remix magazine styled by Marina Monroe.

'I'm about to turn 18, so I'm starting to do more of my own stuff, like acting and other stuff I'm interested in. Kendall hangs out with my family a lot, I hang out with my friends a lot.'

Kylie was photographed by Darren Tieste, interviewed by Steven Fernandez for the magazine and styled by celebrity stylist Marina Monroe.

Marina said about styling the editorial, "We chose to go in a more sophisticated and feminine direction than you normally see her in, she's not a little girl anymore and I wanted to highlight that in a confident, effortlessly sexy way."

Kylie, the youngest of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan, is 19-year-old supermodel Kendall Jenner's sister from their parents Bruce Jenner, 65, and Kris Jenner, 59, who finalized their divorce in December.

Her siblings from Kris Jenner's first marriage to the late Robert Kardashian are Kourtney, 35, Kim, 34, Khloe, 30, and Rob, 28.

Kylie's family tree is further extended by Bruce's children from his two previous marriages, The Hills star Brody and Brandon, 33, with his ex-wife Linda Thompson; and daughter Cassandra, 34, and son Burt, 36, with his ex-wife Chrystie Crownover.

But growing up in the public eye is nothing new for Kylie.

Before the Kardashians became a household name when their E! series began in 2007, it was her former Olympian father, Bruce, who was first in the spotlight.

'Throughout my whole life my dad was famous and had a name, so I was used to that. Then I was nine when we started the show, when people started paying a lot of attention to Kim,' she explained to the magazine.

'I didn't really know what was going on. I can't remember a time when people didn't know us. For me this is just a normal thing.'

However, what is normal to Kylie is a stark contrast to the reality of her peers.

She will turn 18 on August 10, but has already purchased a $2.7 million Calabasas home.

Her rumored boyfriend is 25-year-old rapper Tyga, who has a two-year-old son with model Blac Chyna - her sister Kim's former friend.

Indeed, Kylie has evolved over the years - from a fresh-faced tween to a heavily painted model.

And she has successfully set herself apart from her sisters.

While Kim and Khloe are known for their curvaceous figures, and rising catwalk star Kendall is known for her height and slender frame, Kylie has made her generous lips her trademark.

The budding beauty puts her pout on show as she covers the autumn issue of Remix and poses in designs by World, Kate Sylvester and Helen Cherry in a pictorial for the publication.

For the cover, Kylie wears a white top from World and calls attention to her favorite feature with a glossy nude lip color.

Inside she poses in a textured salmon-colored two-piece dress that features a distressed hem, and she accessorizes with a Chanel statement necklace.

In another image from the photo shoot she looks far older than her years clad in a chic House of CB cropped biker jacket and grey Helen cherry trousers. Pink Fendi pumps completed the look.

The reality star admitted to the magazine that it is her sister Kim who inspires some of her fashion choices.

'Kim's closet is the most amazing thing you'll ever see,' she said.

'I can't even go in there because I get so mad. I'm not her shoe size and I only fit into some of her clothes. She has a whole wardrobe just for shoes.'

Taking to her Instagram page, Kylie shared her plumped-up cover with her 19 million fans.

She captioned the image: 'My cover for @remixmagazine photographed by @darrentieste! Get your copy at remixmagazine.com'

On Sunday night's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians it was revealed how the teen achieves the inflated look.

Natural: Kylie took to Twitter last year to hit back at speculation she'd had surgery and said 'I pout them out a lot. I think big lips are awesome. I love lip liner and overlining my lips,'

She is seen preening in a mirror with Scott Disick and sister Kendall, 19, looking on and Scott remarks: 'Have you seen her do her lipstick? It takes like 40 minutes and then she like pulls one lip, pushes one out,'

He then adds: 'I don't understand why everybody thinks it's so cute to duck [your lips] out!'

Earlier in the episode, the subject of Kylie's lips came up once again with Scott joking: 'You should want your nose to almost hit your lip. Get it up there! Plump her up!'

The longtime boyfriend of Kylie's half-sister Kourtney then revealed he thinks she looks much older than her years.

He said: 'I just feel like you're so grown up, even though you're younger than you look,'

The youngest Jenner girl raised eyebrows last year when she started uploading selfies with very enlarged lips, sparking speculation of possible injections or lip implants.

At the time she explained: 'In my pictures, I pout them out a lot. I think big lips are awesome. I love lip liner and overlining my lips,' she said while admitting she was sick of all the surgery talk.

'I don't even care anymore. I'm like whatever, just say whatever you want. I feel like everyone has been talking about it for months,' confessed Kylie, who also took to Twitter to address the media frenzy.

She wrote: 'How long are we gonna talk about this lip thing lmao,'

'Let's get a our lives together guys and talk about some important sh*t, just talk about something new at least. I'm bored'

Meanwhile Kylie celebrated National Puppy Day by giving her newest family addition, Bambi, a starring role on KUWTK.

The teen was seen leaving studios in Los Angeles with the tiny Italian Greyhound cradled in her arms.

Kylie's other greyhound, Norman, also got a taste of the spotlight when he modeled with Kendall and Gigi Hadid in a Vogue Mario Testino shoot for its April edition.
