FIRST LOOK: X Factor 2015 kicks off with a twerking grandmother and Olly Murs' former bandmate... but it's an Essex receptionist who steals the judges' hearts

Saturday night marks the long-awaited return of The X Factor with a brand new judging panel.
Pop princess Rita Ora, 24, and Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw, 31, join returnees Simon Cowell, 55, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, 32, for ITV's top talent show.
But aside from the famous judges, a whole new host of talent will be vying for the chance to win a money-can't-buy recording contract with Simon's Syco record label - including a twerking grandmother, an Essex receptionist and Olly Murs' former bandmate.

And if the show's first episode is anything to go by, the competition is fierce between the wannabe contestants, with stand-out vocals, spine-tingling performances and fierce dance moves that cause the judges to dance in their seats.
For the first round of auditions at London's Wembley Stadium, it's 25-year-old dental receptionist Lauren Murray who wows the judges with her showstopping rendition of Jocelyn Brown's Somebody Else's Guy.
At first, she disappoints the judges with her Whitney Houston song choices - including I Wanna Dance With Somebody and How Will I Know - but after revealing she has the 1980s tune up her sleeve, she has the judges waiting with bated breath for her performance.
Fresh new panel: Pop princess Rita Ora, 24, and Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw, 31, join returnees Simon Cowell, 55, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, 32, for ITV's top talent show

Not great to begin with: Sadly, she gets off to a shaky start and Cheryl is forced to advise her to 'take a breath and compose herself' but she eventually delivers a spine-tingling performance that has the audience dancing in the aisles

The judges - including Simon - are seen grinning from ear-to-ear throughout her performance and the show's co-host Olly Murs also throws some shapes at the side of stage.
The first episode also sees girlband 4th Power deliver an energetic performance that Beyoncé would be proud of.

Introducing themselves as four sisters - Mylene, Celina, Irene and Almira - the girls reveal they've flown all the way from Southeast Asia with their mother to audition in front of head-judge Simon, which makes the father-of-one very excited indeed.
Starting with their backs to the audience, they soon impress Simon, Cheryl, Rita and Nick - also known as Grimmy - with their perfect harmonies, fierce dance moves and sassy attitudes.
Both the audience and the judges look amazed with the girls' rendition of Jessie J's Bang Bang and can't help but get up and dance in their seats - certainly giving Jessie and Nicki Minaj a run for their money, especially with their word-perfect rendition of Nicki's rap.
Surprise audition: Susan Pryce, 60, captures the judges' hearts at first with her sense-of-humour - including talk of the pet cockatiel she's left at home - but she's no stay-at-home granny

Simon responds by defending his stance on letting non-British contestants audition for the TV talent show.
The show also features some comical auditions, including a retired grandmother from Brighton - who TWERKS in front of the judging panel.

Soon, the judges watch in amazement as Susan twerks up a storm to 2 Unlimited's No Limits, and even slaps her derriere in tune with the music.
Grimmy covers his face in astonishment while Rita admits she 'can't look' - but eventually she has the whole judging panel (and the audience) entranced.
The X Factor also features Louisa Johnson, a 17-year-old student from Essex who performs a rousing rendition of Michael Jackson's Who's Loving You.

The Overs category also looks strong, with a 49-year-old part-time carer from London impressing Cheryl with her urban-inspired audition of Mary Mary's Shackles, which was the Geordie judge's song choice.
Jennifer Phillips tells the audience that she gave up singing for a while - before returning to Wembley to live out her dream.

Tom Davies, a 25-year-old gym receptionist from London, is jokingly given the unofficial title of a male Cheryl as he performs Justin Bieber's As Long As You Love Me (with a host of scantily-clad backing dancers, no less).
The rules were relaxed this year so that dancers were allowed on-stage with the contestants - and it appears that he took advantage of this rule.
Mason Noise, a 21-year-old waiter from Birmingham, stole Rita's heart as he stepped down from the stage to dance seductively with the Kosovo-born judge.

The singer - dressed in a sleeveless vest and trucker hat - looked to have chemistry with Rita as they danced side-by-side to Justin Timberlake's Senorita, and Mason got the audience singing along too.
On the other hand, 19-year-old Tom Bleasby didn't look like a pop star, but his appearance wasn't echoed in his voice.
The Leeds-born teen - who's studying politics in London - impressed the judges with his cover of Adele's Make You Feel My Love, even if he didn't look like he had the X Factor at first glance.

Kelly Kiernan, an 18-year-old student from Mullingar in Ireland, walked on stage looking like a retro pop princess in a figure-hugging red dress with stunning hair and make-up.
She performed a faultless cover of Ariana Grande's Just a Little Bit of Your Heart, with 21-year-old train engineer Jamie Mitchell also impressing the judges with Maroon 5's Sugar.
Dani Clay, a 33-year-old teacher from Essex, performed an outstanding version of Marvin Gaye's show-stopping tune, Heard It Through The Grapevine.

The show also saw Olly Murs' ex-bandmate Jon Goodey perform One Direction's Counting Stars, with his ex-Small Town Blaggers group member watching him attentively from the side of the stage.
However, the 27-year-old IT salesman, who lives in Essex with his wife and daughter, failed to set the judges' world alight with his stage presence, which was a little lacklustre compared to Olly's.
Another auditionee who raised a few eyebrows were duo Man & Woman - on/off couple Cyprian, 36 and Ruth, 30 - who reunited just for the audition to sing Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone.
Cyprian did not look happy when his girlfriend started dancing on her own - and even singing solo after their audition.
The X Factor starts Saturday 29 August at 8pm on ITV.
