Jennifer Lopez, 46, is the ultimate fashion muse as she models beautiful Balmain designs in bold shoot for Paper magazine

  • The mother-of-two stars on one of two covers for the publication's Luxe in Flux issue, alongside Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, 29
  • Moschino designer Jeremy Scott, 40, appears on the second cover, alongside South Korean popstar CL, 24
Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez is once against demonstrating that she doesn't just dominate when it comes to movies and music - she's also a pretty fierce fashion star.
The 46-year-old takes center stage in a new shoot for Paper magazine, which sees her modeling a series of stunning ensembles by Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, who also features in some of the photos alongside Jennifer, who he describes in the pages of the publication's Luxe in Flux issue as his 'muse'.
Mother-of-two Jennifer, who appears on the cover of the September edition with the designer, proves that she has what it takes to pull off the high fashion designs with serious style, as she showcases a variety of different looks, from a lace jumpsuit to a skintight black dress.

One image sees the star showing off her perfect pins in a blue velvet leotard, while whipping a floor-length belted overcoat around her head.
In another picture, Jennifer models a pair of baggy too-long trousers, which have been paired with a beautiful beaded, long-sleeved top.
The Maid in Manhattan star wears her hair in the same slicked-back style for each of the photos, all of which were shot by photographer Nicolas Moore, while her beauty look is focused around heavy contouring to accentuate her high cheekbones, and a shiny red lip to emphasize her perfect pout.
Jennifer's beautifully-manicured nails have been filed into points and painted the same bright red-orange as the bold crystals that have been used to embellish her long-sleeved dress.
One image sees the actress putting her cleavage on display in a low-cut lace jumpsuit which features a sheer turquoise panel over her chest. The ensemble has been belted with a wide green belt, helping to highlight Jennifer's slim waist.
In an interview with the publication, Jennifer explained that luxury fashion, to her, is more about how clothing feels when it's worn.
'To me, it's stuff that's very custom or made for you or fitted - that's how I like all my clothes to feel,' she explained.

'And when I think of luxury, whether it's a house or a car or any luxury item, it's like something special about it that feels like you. Or a piece of jewelry - you know what I mean? It has to have a classic feel to it.
'I like things that are super trendy. I like things that look like they could've been in this era or that era, but it still feels modern.'
Away from fashion, the star's ultimate luxury is the time she gets to spend with her children, family and friends, away from the pressures of work.
'Everyone has their own definition of luxury,' she said. 'For me, sometimes it means the quiet moments away from the business of my life, when I get to spend time with my children and my family. And I agree with Olivier: freedom of choice is a true luxury. We are lucky to have it.'
For her cover, which also stars designer Olivier, 29, Jennifer models a stunning beaded dress, as she gazes straight into the camera lens while embracing designer Olivier from behind.
In a sharp contrast to the singer's bright, bold look, Olivier is wearing a simple black tuxedo-style jacket, which has been left open to expose his chest.
His head is resting back on Jennifer's shoulder and - in comparison to her fierce facial expression - he looks slightly uncomfortable posing in such an awkward position.

And Olivier also makes an appearance inside the pages of the magazine, taking up a similar position with Jennifer covering his eyes with her hand as she stands behind him in one shot, while in another she can be seen leaning over him on the floor while she glares into the camera.
In his one solo shot, Olivier is dressed in the same simple, but perfectly-tailored, Balmain tuxedo jacket, posing with his hands clasped in front of him while he stares into the camera.
Speaking about Jennifer's role as his 'muse', Olivier explained that, to him, the singer is the perfect representation of the 'power' of women.
'For me, Balmain is almost feminist,' he explained. 'It's about the power of girls and women in the world. And that's why I love Jennifer.
'All the muses that have inspired me are really strong and they sometimes fight against the world to show their own rules, which I think Jennifer did throughout her career and she's still doing it.
'You see many stars today try to look like her. She imposes her own rules. And when I think, "What is the Balmain girl?" it's this. It's a woman who knows what she wants and is going to express it.'
Jennifer added: 'The concept of a fearless, strong woman who radiates confidence inside and out is an inspiring idea. It's a great thing for young girls and women to see Balmain's muses illustrated by these ideas of strength and beauty.

'For them it's about a woman who creates her own destiny and forges her own future.'
But while Jennifer, who is currently busy filming action thriller Shades of Blue, and Olivier's shoot showcases Balmain's luxurious designs and glamorous ensembles, Paper's second September cover is all about the bright, colorful and over-the-top designs created by Moschino's Jeremy Scott.
Jeremy and his 'muse' CL model pieces from his Moschino collection, with both also topping off their bold blue ensembles with plenty of big, brash accessories - including crowns.
While Jeremy, 40, whose designs are loved by celebrities the world over, including Madonna, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, wears a blue racing-inspired tracksuit, 24-year-old CL, who was born Lee Chae-rin, wears a coordinating pencil skirt and bandeau bra top, all of which bear the Moschino label.
In addition to inside interviews and features with its cover stars, Paper's Luxe in Flux issue also features 'a vast array of perspectives on the definition of "luxury" today and the things people value, whether it's a Hermes bag, an extreme beauty treatment (bird poop facials are very much a thing right now) or something more emotional, and abstract like the luxury of time, the luxury of water, the luxury of privacy or the luxury of open borders'.
The website description adds: 'As these ideas suggest, in an ever-more global and tech-centric world, the definition of luxury is getting reconsidered.'
