Make-up free Jennifer Lawrence looks pensive as she bundles adorable dog Pippi up in her shearling coat at JFK airport

She's used to travelling in style.

So it came as no surprise that Jennifer Lawrence was eager to give her dog Pippi the same VIP treatment, tucking the adorable pooch into her coat as she made her way through JFK on Monday.

The Hunger Games star, 25, made sure her pooch was kept warm in a black Alberta Ferretti shearling jacket, holding her close as she strode through the crowded airport.

But whilst Pippi seemed content, Jennifer cut a rather pensive figure - no doubt exhausted from promoting her latest film Joy, which debuted to Oscar buzz last month.

Clad in a pair of black tracksuit bottoms and boots, the star looked ready to relax on the flight with her best friend by her side.

The pretty blonde donned a grey beanie hat over her tousled locks, whilst letting her natural beauty shine through on her make-up free face.

But whilst the Oscar-buzz surrounding her latest role might be enough to put a smile on her face, the star will no doubt be less pleased about attending the other awards shows this season.

Last week, Jennifer admitted that she wasn't a fan of the fancy dinners laid out at the star-studded events, and she would rather tuck into a plate of chicken nuggets.

Speaking to Radio 1's Scott Mills she revealed: 'It's always horrible. I was talking about this last night.'

She continued: 'With fancy food when you go to these cocktail parties, and I sound like such a brat cause it's like awards season and I'm very grateful and yeah.'

'But like when you're hungry and you're drinking and then they're like this is a roasted date stuffed with cilantro and goat cheese and it's like, if you brought out chicken nuggets everyone would be so happy. You don't have to do this!'

Jennifer admitted she even devised a plan to deal with the lack of food on offer, stocking up on starters and appetisers.

'I just always eat the bread baskets so that I don't care by the time it gets to me, what kind of 'Woolfgang Puck fancy doesn't even look like food' thing arrives,' she admitted.

'I'm already full of bread and wine I'm like I'm good I don't even know what that is.'
