Disappointed Katherine Jenkins is graceful in defeat as she is named runner-up on DWTS

'It's been an absolute dream': Disappointed Katherine Jenkins is graceful in defeat as she is named runner-up on DWTS

She has won over American audiences and attracted a whole new fan base.
But that wasn't quite enough for Katherine Jenkins last night, as she was named runner-up on Dancing With The Stars.
The soprano, 31, was graceful in defeat, congratulating victor Donald Driver as he was awarded the Mirrorball Trophy.

Katherine and Mark were out in front after the previous night's semi-finals, in which they were the only couple to achieve a perfect score.
Last night, Katherine received extremely high praise from the panel, in particular Carrie Ann Inaba, for her final performance - a jive.
The judge said: ‘You are such a brilliant artist. Thank you, because you two set the bar so high this season.’
Crunch time: Donald and Peta beat out Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas for the first place prize
Tense: The competing dancers were emotional as they waited for the winner to be announced

The action-packed finale also saw Kelly Clarkson perform a medley of her new single Dark Side and her hit Stronger.
Gladys Knight, who was booted out in the sixth week of the competition, also took to the stage to sing The Way We Were, with the emotional song bringing Katherine, Mark and Peta to tears.
It was a reunion of sorts for all the axed celebrities of the season, who each returned to perform one last time on the show.
Perfect score: Katherine and Mark received 90 out of 90 points across the two finale shows
