Vanessa Hudgens courts controversy on Instagram

Vanessa Hudgens courts controversy on Instagram by 'meditating' like the late famed sitar player Ravi Shankar

Vanessa Hudgens isn't bothered a jot by the new Instagram ownership rules it seems  - or at the thought of channeling the recently deceased Ravi Shankar - father of Norah Jones.
The former Disney star posted a series of exotic photos of herself in full Sari on Facebook with the words: 'Ravi Shankar, intense, meditating.'
Hudgens looks coyly away from the camera and then challengingly at it in full traditional Indian garb including a Bindi on her forehead and intricate gold hand jewellery.

Despite not having any Indian ancestry herself it is believed, the 24-year-old still took to the internet to compare herself to the legendary musician.
The man said to be the 'driving force of introducing Indian music to the Western World' died at the beginning of December aged 92 after being admitted to hospital in San Diego, California, with 'breathing difficulties.'
He was also the estranged father of American singer / songwriter Norah Jones.
Hudgens later posted another snap of herself in a quirky black hat and round glasses while pulling a series of faux surprised faces.

Her new Instagram account also has the words: 'Oh. Hello. Officially on Instagram.'
Her Facebook pages also urges fans to view her new images. She wrote on her page: 'Oh hey hey. I’m officially on Instagram. Where you at?'
Her enthusiasm at joining the photo sharing site is at odds with the slew of celebrities who have ditched it over the last few days because of its imminent change in distribution rules.
Instagram's new user agreement give it broader rights to use its members' photos in advertisements.

Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kendell Jenner, Anderson Cooper, Cheryl Burke and Tiffani Thiessen were among those to voice their displeasure.
Kim Kardashian tweeted: 'I really loved Instagram :-( I need to review this new policy. I don't think its fair.'
Her sister Khloe agreed: And their sister Khloe agreed: 'Wow…I just read over Instagram’s new policy...so sad, looks like I might be deleting my instagram after Jan 16. I hope something changes,' she Tweeted.
They are all angered by Instagram's new assertion in the new year that it may now receive payments from businesses to use your photos, user name and other data 'in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you.
