Denise Van Outen reveals her extremely battered and bruised knees after hard-core training ahead of final

Strictly painful: Denise Van Outen reveals her extremely battered and bruised knees after hard-core training ahead of final

It was touch and go for a while whether Denise Van Outen would make the final of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday.
But since she secured her place, it seems the TV personality has taken her training to another level in order to perfect her dance moves.
The 38-year-old revealed her battered and bruised knees on Twitter, showing exactly what the cost of her hard-core training has been.

Denise's dance partner, James Jordan, posted the snap, which also shows one of her knees with a nasty looking scrape on it, on the micro blogging site.
He captioned it: '@denise_vanouten is saying her knees hurt!! I don't know why..do you?'
In the image a small bottle of moisturiser can be seen, which she presumably was using to try to soothe her sore knees.

The black and blueness suggests that her routine will involve some kind of floor spins.
Her training seems to be taking its toll on her though because over the last couple of days she has tweeted about her exhaustion. She wrote: 'Cream crackered!'
She also shared a snap of herself taking a quick nap, writing: 'I had a bit of a cheeky rest during training today when I should have been practising my steps'

Despite regularly topping the leader board Denise has been in the bottom two the last couple of weeks.
Her dance partner believes that this is down to the public's perception of her dance experience.
Speaking on Lorraine on Tuesday, he said: 'I think certain people keep going on about the fact that they think she’s had professional dance training, which she has not.
‘So the more people talk about it, eventually it sticks in people’s head. Eventually people start believing it and it’s not true. It’s sad I think'.
Speaking on the Lorraine show, Denise said: 'We are really excited to make it to the final but it¿s a horrible situation to be in'

The pretty blonde added: 'Everything we do on the dancefloor is all credit to James, because we work so hard and the technical side of things…I didn’t have a clue how to do Latin or ballroom when I started. I had the worst posture ever.'
Even though she scraped a place in the final, the mum-of-one is still apprehensive. She added: 'We are really excited to make it to the final but it’s a horrible situation to be in. It’s one that everybody on the show dreads.
'We don’t have to do anymore dance-offs which is great, because we don’t have them in the final. It’s not a nice feeling is it?'
Denise will be appearing in the final, fighting it out for the Glitterball Trophy, alongside Olympian Louis Smith, Girls Aloud Kimberley Walsh and Tacey Beaker actress Dani Harmer.
