Strictly sensational: Tess Daly stuns in strapless black dress as she hosts WellChild Awards alongside husband Vernon Kay

She’s seen some pretty extravagant dresses over the years as the host of Strictly Come Dancing.
But when it comes to her own style Tess Daly knows that less is often more, particularly when it comes to embellishment.
And proving just that, the 44-year-old stole the show in a simple black frock as she hosted the WellChild Awards, alongside her husband Vernon Kay, on Wednesday at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

Looking like the belle of the ball Tess wore the strapless black prom style dress featuring a tulle skirt.
Elongating her long and slim legs she slipped on a pair of nude heels, while she carried a small black clutch.
Her blonde locks looked particularly sleek and fell in a side parting down her shoulder – adding an extra touch of glamour to her smoky eyes.

Beside her husband Vernon looked very dapper in a blue suit which he teamed with a purple tie.
Ahead of the ceremony Vernon took to Twitter and wrote: ‘Hosting the WellChild awards this evening. Emotional.’
The couple were in good company as Prince Harry, who is patron of the charity, was on hand to meet all of the winners at the award ceremony which recognises exceptional youngsters.

Pop star Pixie Lott also attended looking beautiful in a demure lace green dress with sheer long sleeves.
Her blonde hair had been styled in loose waves off her face creating an old school Hollywood glamour look.
Rocker Rod Stewart dressed to impress wearing a black suit with a checked shirt and striped tie, while his wife Penny Lancaster opted for a simpler look.

The stunning blonde showed off her impressive pins wearing a black dress featuring a thigh high split.
She accessorised her dress with a silver belt, pendant earrings and a pair of strappy silver shoes as she showed her support to the charity.
In contrast Made In Chelsea star Cheska Hull wore a white dress which showed off her deep tan.

Ensuring she didn’t get cold she teamed the cleavage enhancing frock with a white shawl thrown seductively over her shoulders.
The reality star was joined by her former cast mate Ollie Locke who opted for a more laid-back look wearing a pair of white jeans with a pink blazer and grey snood.
WellChild is the national charity for sick children and is committed to ensuring that every child inthe UK, no matter what their situation, location or diagnosis, has the best possible quality of care.
The charity, which has Prince Harry as its patron, funds a unique team of WellChild Children’s Nurses who play an essential role for families across the UK by helping to ensure that children can be cared for at home rather than in hospital where possible.
