'What if Lucy committed suicide?' Hetti Bywater reveals shocking new theory on how her EastEnders character actually died

It's the whodunnit that has kept fans guessing for months but actress Hetti Bywater has a surprising new theory on who killed her EastEnders character Lucy Beale.
Lucy came to an untimely end in April 2014 and as the show prepares to reveal her killer in the upcoming live episodes to celebrate its 30th anniversary next month, the 20-year-old actress has revealed a shocking twist.
Speaking to Radio Times, Hetti - whose character died of a head injury - said: 'Part of me thinks it would give the public a shock if it turned out that Lucy committed suicide. Who killed Lucy? Lucy!'

However, if Lucy's cause of death was not suicide, there are plenty of other suspects, 19 in fact, and Hetti has her eye on one in particular.
Speaking about Lucy's brother and drug-dealer Peter (Ben Hardy), she said: 'I want it to be Peter and I've dreamt he did it. He'd been planning it for months so it was totally premeditated. It was a really dark side of Peter that we hadn't seen before.'
So many suspects: Lucy's father and brother are both suspects and now Hetti thinks Lucy could have been responsible for her own death

Indeed viewers have seen an extremely dark side to Peter, who was exposed as Lucy's drug dealer recently.
It was revealed that he supplied his sister with cocaine and still uses the drug himself.
He subsequently threatened his father and vandalised the house after it became increasingly likely that he was the biggest suspect in the murder investigation.
When asked his opinion on who killed Lucy, Ben placed the blame firmly on Abi Branning (Lorna Firzgerald), whose father Max (Jake Wood) had a secret affair with Lucy.
He said: 'I know it's Abi - it can't be anyone else. It's definitely not a Beale.'
While Lorna believes Lucy's father Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is the culprit, she admitted she has been 'practising my guilty face'.
She said: 'From day one I've said it was Ian. That would be the biggest shock. But just in case it's me I've been practising my guilty face.'
Jake Wood admitted he has no idea, saying: 'At one point I thought it was Abi. Then I convinced myself it was Ian. Then I thought it might be Max. But now I have no idea.'
BBC bosses are going all out to promote the upcoming live episodes and a creepy trailer was injected with a touch of the paranormal when it was recently released.
It opened with Max walking by the park where a single tire swing was moving on it's own.
His daughter Abi was browsing the shelves at the local shop, but saw the caps on drinks bottles twisting off on their own.
Jane Clarke (formerly Beale - played by Laurie Brett) looked up from serving customers at the chip shop to see hand prints on the steamed window with no obvious owner nearby.

As the lights flickered the hand prints scraped down as if someone was dragging their nails down the window pane when the sound of a baby crying echoed through the square.
A lonesome Denise Fox (Diane Parish) looked up at the closing bell of the Qeeen Vic, ringing all by itself.
And as the residents congregated outside the pub their focus was taken by the banging gate of the Square.

Then the ghost of Lucy appeared, hovering in the sky and looking down on her family, friends and killer.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised 'spectacular' drama in the week of special shows for the soap's 30th anniversary including a live episode on February 19th.
EastEnders airs on BBC One at 7.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and 8pm on Monday and Friday
