Brits at Met gala Rita Ora, Cara & Poppy Delevingne, Amal Clooney, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Naomi Campbell and Sienna Miller

Cara Delevingne leads the Brits in cut-out jumpsuit and Chinese-themed body art at the Met Gala... while Amal Clooney, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Sienna Miller turn heads in reds and golds

It is known to be the most glamorous night in the fashion calender and the British stars who attended Monday night’s Met Gala were sure to fly the flag in style.
Held to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute, the theme for 2015 was China: Through The Looking Glass meaning outfits would be expected to reflect East Asian influence. Tickets cost a huge $25,000 each.
Supermodel Cara Delevingne ensured she was one of the standout guests on the night as she shunned the classic gowns for a cut-out jumpsuit and added decoration to her look in the form of body art.

Showcasing her cleavage in the plunging ensemble, the blonde beauty styled her locks back into a tight bun and sported her favoured smokey eye and strong brows.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley simply dazzled in her shimmering cut-out Versace gown as she led the glamour along with the likes of Amal Clooney, Sienna Miller, Emily Ratajkowski and Georgia May Jagger.
Amal made her Met Gala debut in a tiered, crimson-hued by disgraced designer John Galliano for Masion Margiela gown featuring a sequin-covered bodice.
Early in 2011, Dior announced they had suspended the Italian-British designer following his arrest over an alleged racist tirade at a Paris bar. In France it is illegal to express anti-Semitic ideas and he was put on trial the same year.

She was joined, of course, by her doting husband George, who sported a traditional black Armani tuxedo with a long tail, and it's fair to say the handsome Hollywood hunk couldn't take his eyes off his lovely lady.
Rosie oozed old Hollywood glamour in her dress while Sienna Miller seemed to be sporting a matador style ensemble as she wore a custom red fringe sequin tuxedo by Thakoon.
She accessorized with matching black tassel earrings and a complementary Rauwolf clutch, with a sleek bun and a ravishingly dark red lip completing the look.

Other British stars doing their bit on the red carpet were Rita Ora, Dame Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan Rachel Weisz, Ellie Goulding, Naomi Campbell and Alexa Chung, to name a few.
Fashionista and writer Alexa showed off her directional tastes in a striking satin lilac gown, complete with delicate embroidery across the bodice and full skirt, by Erdem.
Brit singing star Rita worked her favourite scarlet red shade on the red carpet along with the frock's fantastic designer Tom Ford.
And the gorgeous Carey Mulligan kept it simple, covering her slight frame with a billowing black trapeze-style gown with a high and glitzy neckline by Balenciaga.
Loved-up pair Robert Pattinson and FKA twigs also put in a showing, marking one of their very first public appearances together, and the petite and stunning singer certainly cut up the red carpet in her eye-catching multi-coloured Alexander McQueen gown.

Guests were to receive notice upon arrival that 'the use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted' throughout the event, a controversial ban which has apparently come at the request of the evening’s host, Anna Wintour.
The new rule may also be partially attributed to Ms. Wintour's own distaste for posting personal photos on social media.
In an interview last year, the Vogue boss said: 'I’ve never taken a selfie and I don’t plan to start now.
However, judging by the stars' Instagram accounts during the night, they didn't heed the rules, with several of them sharing snaps from inside the prestigious event.

The exhibit, called Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film and Fashion, will run at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Costume Institute through August 15.
It explores the way Chinese art and aesthetics have been interpreted by the West over the years.
The show boasts a massive 30,000 square feet of gallery space filled with rich ensembles: Chinese costumes, historic garments and decorative arts, displayed beside the work of dozens of Western designers who were inspired by China, including names like John Galliano, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Cristobal Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier and many more.

The show also features work by Chinese or Chinese-American designers - Jason Wu, for example, who designed both of Michelle Obama's inaugural gowns - working either in China or elsewhere around the globe.
The exhibit, a joint endeavor of the Costume Institute and the Met's Asian Art department, is one of the most ambitious in scope the museum has undertaken, director Thomas Campbell said Monday at a preview.
And it is fully three times the size of the usual spring Costume Institute show, noted Andrew Bolton, its curator, comprising not just the institute's galleries but the entire Asian Art department.
