Raunchy Coco de Mer film gets green light to be shown across the UK... featuring bare bottoms being spanked and sexy lingerie

Is this the most X-rated advert EVER? Raunchy Coco de Mer film gets green light to be shown across the UK... featuring bare bottoms being spanked and sexy lingerie

  • Coco de Mer teamed up with Rankin Film and ad agency TBWA\London
  • Its 2.5 minute clip features lots of sexy and bizarre moving imagery
  • Snippets are spliced together at high speed to electro house music
  • Film is running run online and in cinemas nationwide, and on TV in future
Bare bottoms being spanked, naked nipples being tweaked and pursed lips smothered in bright red lipstick all feature in what is being hailed as the most X-rated advert of all time.
Erotic lingerie brand Coco de Mer launched the two-and-a-half-minute footage called 'X', during which viewers are treated to a steamy collage of sexy images and vignettes - which are not safe for work - spliced together at high speed to electro house music.
Shot by photographer Rankin in collaborating with advertising agency TBWA/London, it also features more bizarre and macabre imagery such as an egg, the Grim Reaper and a digger.

Coco de Mer launched the film at a gallery in Soho on 18 May, and it will be rolled out across cinemas in the UK.
At the launch, Rankin told campaignlive.co.uk that 'X' was 'definitely the best thing that I have done in film', adding: 'It has layers of meaning and to get that in advertising is rare.'
Makers say 'X' immerses the viewer in the deepest desires of the erotic imagination, showing a roller-coaster ride of images, from seemingly banal everyday moments to evocative images of sexy lingerie.

The film, which is being entered for various prestigious awards such as the Cannes Lions festival, is running run online and in cinemas nationwide, as well as on TV in the future.
It has been received with unsurprisingly mixed reactions.
Some have said it's 'brave, strange and disturbing', while magazine boss Michael Zivyak described it as 'gorgeous, sexy, pretentious nonsense', which seems to sit bang in the middle.
Rankin said: 'What I loved about the concept was how it visualised the way in which we absorb information nowadays. It examines our appetite for visceral and engaging imagery, reflecting how we consume as quickly as a click.

'This film takes our obsessions and ramps them up to intense new levels. Rather than selling you a dream, we're allowing people to feel like they're in one, experiencing it live as they watch the film unfold.'
Lucy Litwack, Managing Director of Coco de Mer said: 'We want to set a conversation in motion that talks about what is actually inspiring the mind to return to the notions of sexual delight.
'The core of the campaign is Coco de Mer's real commitment to creating a more vital, more beautiful erotic landscape through which our audience can explore.'
Walter Campbell said: 'As masters in the art of longing and yearning, Coco de Mer were in the perfect position to encourage a more progressive and liberated viewpoint for those who are interested.
'The erotic doesn't get the same overt attention as everything else on the cultural menu, so we created a film to surprise, excite and most importantly, encourage people to delve that little bit deeper into their fantasies - to reignite that connection'
