She's quite a character... Ariana Grande wears a fluffy animal costume for trip to Japan
She’s credited her fascination with wearing cat ears to Japan’s fashion hub of Harajuku.
But Ariana Grande went for a different animal – a mouse mixed with a pig? – as she touched down in Tokyo on Thursday.
The 22-year-old singer was greeted by hordes of fans as she wore a pink onesie with a fluffy tail and double hair buns in the shape of ears.

Touching down: Ariana Grande, 22, landed in Tokyo on Thursday as she wore an animal suit and double buns on her head in the shape of ears
Grande mainly dresses as cats but this outfit appeared to be some sort of hybrid.
In a light shade of pink, the plush jumper seemed to resemble something like Piglet from A.A. Milne’s Winnie The Pooh.
However, it also featured a white belly and a tail like a feathered pink boa. And on the hood was at least one horn, suggesting either a cow, horse or unicorn.
As she strolled into the airport’s greeting area, Grande wore the onesie zipped down with one side falling off her shoulder and revealing her black tank-top and bra strap beneath.
Undone: The singer wore the pink suit loosely and let it slack of the side of her shoulder
Mix n match: In addition to the plush jumper, Grande wore black heels and carried a black leather purse
And instead of wearing her typical cat ears - which she does onstage, in videos and at home - Grande went for a new DIY hairstyle.
The singer propped up two buns of hair on the top of her head, which looked round and fluffy similar to, perhaps, Minnie Mouse.
Adding to the clash of styles and animal species, Grande also donned a pair of classic black heels and carried a leather purse as a touch of casual elegance.
Eager: As Grande emerged from the terminal, she was greeted by hordes of excited fans
Taking the time: Ariana stopped and greeted her fans, took photos and signed autographs
Hectic: The crowd was enthusiastic to see the singer as security made sure nothing got out of hand
Getting close: The singer showed she truly loves her Japanese fans as she hugged and kissed one
As the singer willingly went into a sea of cell phones and grabbing hands, she graciously submitted herself to the crowd’s demands.
She took selfies, signed autographs and even kissed one admirer on the cheek.
And all of that under the jet-lagged exhaustion of an 11+ hour plane flight – clearly, Grande loves her Japanese fans.
Grateful: Grande also posted an Instagram snap of her and her fans captioning: 'I'm so happy to be back in Japan I love my Japanese babes. Thank you for greeting me.’
Jet-lagged: The singer also posted a snap of herself in her hotel room with her DIY hairstyle as she commented on her disturbed sleep schedule due to the 11+ hour flight
The singer also took to Instagram to share photos of her new look and her meet and greet with fans.
One snap posted Thursday shows her and a slew of smiling faces with the caption: ‘I'm so happy to be back in Japan I love my Japanese babes. Thank you for greeting me.’
Another shows her in what is presumably her hotel room, showing off her hairdo, to which she wrote: ‘Goodnight from Tokyo.’
On Saturday night Grande will be playing a sold-out show in Chiba, which neighbors Tokyo.
And in the following days she’ll play in close-by Osaka and then Tokyo before she heads to the Philippines and Indonesia.
After her Asian leg of the Honeymoon Tour, the singer returns to the States where she will play shows spanning the country through October.
Spirit animal: Typically the singer dresses as a cat, like she did here during a show last week in Canada
