Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez lead the nominees at 2016 People's Choice Awards

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have the most nominations each for the 2016 People’s Choice Awards, and will be going head-to-head in two categories.
The nominees for the January ceremony, which will include the DailyMail.com Seriously Popular Award, were announced on Tuesday by Jane Lynch.
Taylor has an impressive four nods – for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Song (for Bad Blood) and Favorite Social Media Celebrity.

Meanwhile Selena is also up for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist, as well as Favorite Animated Movie Voice.
Also scoring three nominations is Melissa McCarthy, who is hoping to take home the Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Comedic Movie Actress and Favorite Comedic TV Actress gongs.
Melissa will be competing against Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in the Favorite Movie Actress category.

Voting for the 42nd People's Choice Awards began on Tuesday. The ceremony will take place on January 6, 2016.
