Jennifer Lawrence confirmed last March that this would be her last movie with the franchise.
So it's no wonder an X-Men: Apocalypse trailer released during a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday hinted at that outcome.
The 25-year-old actress appeared on the teaser in her famous Mystique blue paint while being choked by the film's all-powerful enemy.

Mystique gasps for air and struggles to breathe as the omnipotent Isaac clenches his huge hands around her neck as he attempts to suffocate the life out of her.Backed by her fellow X-Men heroes, Mystique battles the antagonist with Cyclops, who is played by Tye Sheridan and his character's girlfriend, Jean Grey - played by Sophie Turner.
Evan Peters is also featured in the short video as Quicksilver, who is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds.

The Oscar-winning actress announced last year that she was leaving the franchise after she was featured in 2011's X-Men: First Class and 2014's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. 
This will be the ninth installment of the highly-popular series of films adapted from the Marvel comic book of the same name.
X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, hits cinemas in the UK on 19 May with a release in the US following during Memorial Day Weekend on 27 May.
