Kimberley Walsh leads the way at the Olympic gala concert wearing a pretty jewelled ball gown

Dressing like a princess: Kimberley Walsh leads the way at the Olympic gala concert wearing a pretty jewelled ball gown

She may play a princess on stage but tonight Kimberley Walsh looked the real deal as she graced the red carpet.
The 30-year-old singer tweeted that her 'dress barely fits in the car' while she was on her way to the Our Greatest Team Rises Olympic concert.
However, once she'd stepped out of her vehicle and stood outside the Royal Albert Hall, Walsh showed no signs of regret with her outfit choice and looked fit to be in the presence of royalty.

The Girls Aloud star looked stunning in a silver strapless gown that featured a netted skirt and a jewel-embellished corset.
Walsh teamed the glamorous garment with a pair of Garrard one-of-a-kind chandelier earrings and a large cocktail ring as she carried a small silver clutch bag.
She was obviously chuffed with her outfit and posted on Twitter her thoughts on the dress: 'Have quite a special number for this evening, it is the Royal Albert Hall after all!'

The Shrek: The Musical star is set to perform at the concert tonight in front of an audience including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Walsh was clearly very excited about the guests of honour and tweeted from the red carpet: 'Arrrgghhh Wills and Kate just arrived!!!!!! #RAH'
Other female celebrities who arrived alongside Walsh and had made a similar effort included Davina McCall and former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm.

McCall made sure she stood out from the crowd in an electric blue dress that clung to all the right places.
The one-shouldered garment almost covered the TV presenter's peep-toe heels and matched her long dark hair perfectly.
Singer Chisholm opted against a floor-length dress and instead arrived wearing a knee-length cream garment that included a black waistband and draped detailing at the front.
She too, was set to perform at the charity event and no doubt had another outfit planned for when she went on stage.

However, not everyone was as brave as Chisholm and ice dancer Jane Torvill continued the trend of floor-length dresses.
The 54-year-old blonde arrived wearing a deep purple ensemble that included a subtle split and a jewel-encrusted collar.
Former British javelin thrower and heptathlete Tessa Sanderson continued this theme also as she posed next to Dame Kelly Holmes.

The Jamaican-born sportswoman made sure the thigh-high split on her black dress stood out which she teamed with matching heels and a bag.
Holmes showed off her slender figure in a shiny nude dress that was rather low-cut and featured a scale pattern.
Another sporty lady who arrived looking very glamorous was former tennis player Annabel Croft.

The slinky star wore a red halterneck dress and shoes that pretty much blended in with the carpet outside the popular music venue.
Croft was followed by former skeleton racer and Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams who looked pretty in a long black dress which she wore with minimal jewellery.
Another star who went for the minimalistic look was retired swimmer Sharron Davies who brought her teenage daughter Grace Elizabeth along with her.

Other guests who bought a plus one along with them included Bear Grylls who bought his blonde wife Shara to stand by his side.
Gloria Hunniford didn't arrive alone either and looked glamorous in a black tasseled dress and glitzy jacket on top.
