Bouffant-haired Paloma Faith flies the flag for Britain at VH1 Divas show

London born singer Paloma Faith has made no secret of her ambition to crack America and it looks like she's doing just that.
The quirky singer who is currently in the US on a promotional trip wowed audiences at the VH1 Divas awards show in Los Angeles yesterday after belting out hits from her current album Fall To Grace.

Paloma was joined by some of America's most impressive vocalists, including Jordin Sparks, Melanie Fiona and Ledisi and the east London born singer didn't let us down.

The show honoured musical legend Whitney Houston and also raised money for the channel's Save The Music Foundation.
Jordin, Melanie and Ledisi had the audience on their feet as they performed their 'Make You Want To Dance tribute' to the late singer, Whitney.
But the 27-year-old showed the Americans how it should be done when she took to the stage. Paloma showed off her curvy figure and big hair by wearing a heavily jewelled gold dress and
her traffic-light orange locks loose for the glamorous evening.

Paloma then kept her fans up to date with a series of tweets that followed.
'In the trailer @VH1Divas and there's been a power cut. Wouldn't it be awful if we couldn't get ready?'
After belting out some of her biggest hits Paloma tweeted fans her delight: 'Thank you America for making me feel welcome. You have been lovely.'
Contemporary dancer and songwriter Paloma isn't worried about winning over her fans stateside.
Following her signing to Epic Records in the US, label boss and US X Factor judge LA Reid said: 'In an ear where authenticity resonates, Paloma is the epitome of soul. It's an honour for Epic records to be a part of her career in the United States.'

Speaking earlier this year, Paloma said: 'I am doing a lot of things in America at the moment, I'm trying to crack it over there.
'I'm not nervous about America, I don't really get nervous about anything. I think you shouldn't put too much pressure on yourself.'
'I know people will make comparisons between me in America and how other people have gone down but I just did some gigs over there and all the reviews were amazing.
'Americans love my theatricality; they don't want someone that just stands there and sings, they like the entertainment of it all - the spectacle.'
