Kate Upton lands her first US Vogue cover months after gracing the Italian and British editions

Third time's a charm: Bombshell Kate Upton lands her first US Vogue cover months after gracing the Italian and British editions

Kate Upton can split opinion like no other model, with many laughing at her dreams of making the transition from swimwear to couture.
But it seems like her dreams are one step closer to reality now she has scored her first ever US Vogue cover.
The 20-year old model is the star of the June issue, and in the newly released cover, she is heralded as 'the hottest supermodel on Earth.'

In the accompanying interview, US Vogue praise Kate's down to earth attitude and happy go lucky personality, as well as touching on the fact that a lot of her popularity stems from the internet.
She first shot to fame dancing to a rap song for photographer Terry Richardson, a clip that went viral and has 16 million views so far, and is an avid tweeter.
'I didn’t buy the magazines that had models on the covers, because I didn’t know them. So I think this kind of gives me, as a model, a personality that people can connect with,' she explains.

Kate is hoping that her career will see her working in films and designing lingerie, as well as modelling.
'I never set out to be on the runway', she said. 'I feel like I trust my career path. I would love to have my own lingerie line'
Earlier this week, Kate was a star guest at the Met Gala, an annual fashion party organised by the magazine.
She showed off her model credentials in a stunning emerald gown with her blonde hair pulled back.
The June cover is not the first time Kate has graced the fashion bible after starting out as a swimwear model in Sports Illustrated two years ago.
Her first brush with the international magazine brand was when she was staring out from the front cover of Vogue Italia with the simple tagline 'Seductive' in November 2012.
Some critics deemed the photographs of Kate, who posed in a series of louche scenes sometimes with a cigarette in her mouth, as sleazy, but it was proof that she was starting to make in-roads in to the judgmental world of high fashion.

That same month she starred in a full fashion spread in its US counterpart.
It must have been a great feeling for Kate after she was rubbished by Victoria's Secret as being 'too obvious'.
The casting agent for the lingerie chain's famous catwalk shows, Sophia Neophitou,  told the New York Times: 'She’s like a Page 3 girl.
'She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.'
In January this year she was on the cover of British Vogue, looking holier than thou in a clingy white dress.
The accompanying interview  gushed, 'Standing at 5ft 10in, with her outsize bosoms and long slender legs, Kate Upton has a body that belongs to the supermodel era of modelling.
'In the flesh, this all-American beauty resembles a young Anna Nicole Smith or Marilyn Monroe; her face is very pretty and perfectly symmetrical (with the exception of that mole, so exquisitely placed to the right, it looks like it might have been drawn on by the modelling gods).
'She also has the ability, with the slightest of expressions, to flit with ease between girlishly wholesome and full-on sex. All things considered, it's a knockout formula.'
