Cate Blanchett dazzles in heavily embellished feminine flesh-coloured Giorgio Armani gown on Oscars red carpet

There was a very distinct theme of nude on the Oscars red carpet this year.
But Best Actress nominee Cate Blanchett made sure to stand out from the rest in her heavily embellished Giorgio Armani gown and a pair of spectacular drop earrings as she attended the ceremony, held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday evening.
The 44-year-old's gown complemented her creamy complexion and featured a sheer fine tulle fabric and flutter cap sleeves.

But it was the star's dazzling jewels that really stood out, with the actress wearing a pair of giant star burst opal earrings and several diamond bracelets.
Cate carried on the nude theme in her makeup, opting for neutral tones for eye makeup and nude lips.
Meanwhile, the Australian beauty's golden locks were coiffed in a soft curl.
'It's heavy but I love it,' she told E! of her gown, and as if hinting that she was looking forward to what has been a long award season, said, 'I hope my wheels are on tonight because it's a long way until the end of the carpet.'

The stunning mother-of-three is nominated for her emotive performance as an unhinged once wealthy woman in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
While Cate is the overwhelming favourite to cinch the Best Actress gong, she faces competition from the likes of Sandra Bullock, Amy Adams, Judi Dench and Meryl Streep.
With a number of accolades already to her name, the actress looked to be still on a high from the night before when she picked up yet another title, this time at the Independent Spirit Awards.
And during her acceptance speech, the star took the academy to task for apparent sexism.

The 44-year-old wondered out loud why there were only five female nominees and six in the Best Actor category.
'It's a relevant question', she said.
For the ceremony, Cate had an unusual fashion fail in a bizarre brown and beige dress which looked like it was two garments put together.
A large blue flower on the front and a mismatched gold belt completed the look but thankfully she had better luck at the awards as she picked up the Best Actress award.
The Oscars began at 12.30 EST with Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts, Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong'o already gracing the red carpet.
Though it was still raining in LA after a three-day storm, reporters and guests were seen standing outside the venue by early afternoon.
Only a portion of the carpet was tented, promising the attendees to be doused with rain as they enter the show.
