Tyler Hilton gets recurring role in Halle Berry's show Extant

The former One Tree Hill star has been cast in the science fiction programme as a socially-awkward but brilliant coder for the mysterious Humanichs Project.

Berry stars in Extant as an astronaut who struggles to adapt to home life with her family after a year in outer space.
The events that her character Molly Woods experienced in space will ultimately change the course of human history.
Goran Visnjic will play Molly's husband John in the upcoming show, with Tessa Ferrer, Josh Malina and Grace Gummer rounding out the ensemble cast.
Extant has been created by Mickey Fisher (The King of Iron Town), with Steven Spielberg aboard as an executive producer.
CBS airs the season premiere on July 9 at 9pm ET.
