Laura Robson ditches her tennis whites in favour of an elegant powder blue dress at the WTA pre-party

Looking ACE! Laura Robson ditches her tennis whites in favour of an elegant powder blue dress as she kicks off the Wimbledon season at WTA pre-party

She's most likely to be seen slipping into her trusty tennis whites as she prepares to go to battle on the court.
But Laura Robson proved that while she's best known for her sporting success, she's equally spot-on when it comes to sartorial savvy as she put on an elegant display at the WTA pre-Wimbledon party - presented by Dubai Duty Free - at The Roof Gardens, Kensington, on Thursday night.
Looking the picture of ladylike chic as she worked her magic in front of the camera at the central London venue, the 20-year-old tennis ace showed off her toned figure in a pretty powder blue spaghetti-strap dress by Preen By Thornton Bregazzi.

The talented sportswoman added height to her frame with a pair of unusual yellow and navy lace-up heels by Sophia Webster, and accessorised with delicate silver jewellery.
Laura wore her dark brunette locks tumbling loosely around her shoulders, while opting for simple bronze make-up to highlight her striking features to perfection as she mingled inside the bash, which was held in association with Ciroc Vodka.
But while the former Wimbledon Junior champion looked eager to get cracking on the British tennis tournament, she has unfortunately been stuck down by injury, and was wearing a brace on her wrist as an unwelcome accessory.

Laura's wrist ailment has been plaguing her since the start of the year when she was forced to retire from her first round match at the Hobart International due to the problem, which has continued to affect her game.
The tennis star's Wimbledon journey came to an emotional end in 2013, when she left Court No 1 fighting back tears after suffering a defeat at the hands of Estonian Kaia Kanepi.
Visibly devastated, she said of her loss: 'It is more disappointing because I put so much pressure on myself. I had my chances and I just didn’t take them.

'I have so much to work on before I can even think of getting to Slam finals.
'But, cliched as it sounds, it’s all part of the learning experience and the more I get myself in these situations the more I’m going to benefit.'
Despite her loss, insiders are predicting her off-court earnings will hit £1 million because of her nationwide popularity; she has already signed up to become the face of Virgin Active alongside Richard Branson.
